^ pretty good trade, i dont think the rockets are ready yet to part ways with mcgrady but its getting damn near that point
He doesn't want to be here. He talked about wanting Ron here to help carry the load, but he's like a controlling boss that just can't let go of things and let you do your job. He won't let the other guys do what they do best. Last night I was actually want to see Rafer and his tear drop over Grady's jump shot.
Remember a crappy Kidd was traded for Harris and 2 first round picks...who thought that was possible before the trade... In Moray I believe! T-Mac could land us at least one first rounder and a board line star
I don't get why people seem to think that trading T-Mac means the end of the world insofar as the Rockets' Championship odds. Consider the facts folks... FACT: T-Mac is no longer in his prime THEORY: T-Mac is likely PAST his prime FACT: T-Mac's injuries are starting to add up THEORY: T-Mac can successfully recover from his knee surgery/problems FACT: T-Mac has played more years in this league than most THEORY: T-Mac can sustain a high level of play even at these ages FACT: T-Mac himself has said something to the effect that "<I> feel old" "<I> have played a helluva lot of years in the NBA" "<I> feel tired/worn out" THEORY: T-Mac is just lying to himself and the problem is attitudinal. But what IF, what he's saying is true??? That he truly has lost a step That he truly is OLD That he truly FEELS OLD b/c he is tired and fatigued and his body is worn Is the risk then greater in keeping him on the roster? Or in trading him? imho, the answer is the former and we should be trading him NOW before the rest of the league realizes that he's out of mileage. The NBA is a business. There are no loyalties. I wish the nostalgic T-Mac apologists would get over this. Think about it... it wasn't that long ago that rumors were abound about 1 for 1 trades involving: T-Mac and Kobe T-Mac and Garnett not to mention pkg deals with willing GM's looking to deal for players on Detroit players in New York players in Portland players in Chicago Think about it... tiredofTMacsSAGE
TMac for Kirk Hinrick and Andres Nocioni works. I think I would pull the trigger on that one and then start looking for a suitable home for Rafer that doesn't include a Houston zip code
Barring a minor miracle by Morey (I'll never underestimate him), I don't see us getting much closer to a championship in the next 2 years trading him away. I'd rather take our chances keeping him...for now. It's too soon to say he's pulling a Toronto/Orlando. Believe me, I hate what I see as much as everyone else. And Tmac deserves every bit of criticism. But I would not be surprised if we're in March and everything is copacetic again.
Here is how i would shake things up personally......We would basically take ourselves out of the 2010 sweepstakes but it is what it is and something has to be done before we end up lottery bound and actually become the dallas cowboys of basketball..... http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...7~532&teams=10~4~10~10~10~4~17~4~17&te=&cash= new linup would be something like this Kirk Hinrich,Brooks Vince Carter,Wafer,Barry Shane Battier,Ron Scola,Drew Gooden (much needed length) Yao,Deke,Sean Williams Now here are the reasons teams do this......Chicago cuts 17 million and are players somewhat come 2010 by moving Hinrich plus Gooden is on the block now, and Chicago also will be getting an up and comer with Landry which I think is a little more polished than Noah and Thomas plus a cheaper back up with Rafer who also has less years than Hinrich......Now New Jersey they have been looking to move Sean Williams for a while now and they were interested in Head for Williams earlier from what I have been reading on the internet....the reason they move Vince for Tracy is the fact Tracy will be off there books in 2010 and Vince will have 2 years left in 2010.......we all know that New Jersey is one of the teams trying to get Lebron with them moving to New York plus one of Lebrons good friends is part owner of the team so they may look to move Vince since they can not see themselves winning a championship with him there in the next 2 years............... It's obvious why Houston does this deal in getting the PG they have been needing and also getting a SG who will actually play for you (Vince is playing well for a sorry ass New Jersey team right now so coming to Houston will be good for him).....Plus by bringing in Gooden we will get much needed length, size and atheletic help that we need in the front court..Sean Williams also will supply some of this help if we need him (Houston and Lakers WC Finals)
Say what???? I wish I could have as much faith as you profjay. But these last 10 games or so, I'm worried and I'm simply not satisfied about getting into the playoffs. This team needs to be thinking conference finals and/or championships. Anything less would be a disappointment imho. Again, I understand why some people believe keeping T-Mac is no worse bet at this stage of the season. However, I'm of the opinion that such is looking in the rear view mirror about T-Mac's "prime" potential and not forward looking at what IS and what will likely be. If there is any assumption to be made, it's that T-Mac CAN NOT and WILL NOT regain his former self before the playoffs at this on again/off again schedule. Should he take time off, how much time will it take for him to get his athleticism back? imho, there's been no definitive answer either way. And the only thing we can really hang our hat on is how he is performing in the now and now. So respectfully, I actually believe is not only little to be lost, but a LOT to be gained should we/if we/shall we trade T-Mac on or before the trade deadline. It wouldn't be a traditional move that puts us over the top, but it gives us more years to look forward to above and beyond the current season. Besides which, why wait until everyone INCLUDING other GMs realize that T-Mac has peaked??? idontknowthewordcopaceticSAGE
i dunno what team would wanna see this type of effort <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Mk4QufbyJhI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Mk4QufbyJhI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Nice idea. Waive a player on a 20 million $ contract. While they are at they may aswell waive Yao, Artest and the rights to Bill Worrell.
