The Rockets needed the 22 game win streak last year to get into playoff contention. This year, it's not looking that bad yet. As long as they're in the playoff picture (like not 3+ games out), then they can struggle and mix it up and try whatever, but no need to go crazy.

See, talent doesn't equal production, given confounding factors such as injury and sheer willpower. At this point in his career, McGrady's talent simply isn't producing much. It's inconsistent at its best, and utterly detrimental at its worst.
And let's face it. Houston has no chance to win it all without McGrady playing with at least 75% of his maximum efficiency and giving all his effort. Until he can do that... actually, until he can at least match Wafer's production on a nightly basis, there's no reason to play him.

if he's a scrub and still better than your beloved mcgrady, what does that make #1 to be?

thank you for making a point.

    This is a happy losing...
At lease we see the eager of winning...
we see they try theis ass out to win the game..
    ..
I am not so happy with Ming becoz he isn't that dominant..
but at least he has the mentality of profession..
Compare wafer with tmac...tmac only worth a bag of peanuts...maybe i am insulting the peanuts..

Seriously... Yao DOMINATED the first half. I guess the Hawks' swarming defense did slow down Yao.

IMO, the real reason we lost was because our defense couldn't keep up when Yao's out of the game. In the first half, our solid first quarter lead was gone when Yao went to the bench; the same thing happened in the third quarter, all because the Hawks were scoring at will in and around the paint.

And Scola couldn't guard Josh Smith to save his life, though that's a tough matchup for 90% of the league. Oh how we needed Artest. :(

That only prove one thing, Rafer have the opening is because Yao is double-teamed.

Because the team were hitting their open shots created by the defense played on Yao. Yao was open a couple of times in the second half when they swung the ball to the weak-side but the weak-side shooter was hitting. Like Bullard said, Yao played the defense the right way.

We lost this game on the defensive end with the second unit. Flip Murray and company attacked the basket too easily when Yao was sitting down. It's too bad Deke couldn't play tonight because he certainly would have helped.

yes, most teams try harder in the first than the 2nd halves. yao has got a way to make himself dominant if he wants to be the #1 option and be the man.

the #1 guy does what he has to do, regardless of what the other defense does.

I love TMAC? He is a loser in my eyes. I've given up on him long time ago when his last child was born.

Sorry we all arnt as pessimistic as your are you damn muppet. Losers are negative, while winners try to find the positive in a situation. What do you want the team and us to be like? "Damn we suck, we have the 8th seed", or, "We are playing like ****, but if we turn things around it isn't too far to the top"?

Its not really Adelman not able to use Yao, its that its so restricted, Yao is so limited, but when you take him out, they don't have anyone with size to defend the paint. Scolandry and Hayes can't. I've been saying it for 50 yrs now, but of course people want to add scolandry's combined numbers, but look at the numbers they give up. Yao bogs the game down, but he clogs the paint on defense. He goes out, the tempo picks up, but they have no one that can contest a shot. Nevermind, I'm tired of talking about it.

Tell him that 9th place teams and teams that are in the bottom half of the bracket don't get past the first round.

But, he should know that by now, right?

is it me or your "inadvertent" comment on yao makes your otherwise good post a sour one? yao is real good on the low post in offense and he creates double teams on him and gives his teammates open looks (and thus makes them better) - with me so far, right? and then he's so critical in our interior defense as well, eh? - and yet "yao is so limited"?
