I hate knee jerk threads. Usually I don't post after loses because my emotions tend to get the best of me. I just looked at the conference standings on Espn to to see how the lost effected out seating just out of curiosity and I was shocked to see we are sitting at the 8TH seed. My question for you guys Is how do you think Les, Morey and Rick are looking at it? Are they thinking stand pat and wait to get healthy, or are they thinking we need to make change to the team so salvage the season? With the way the western conference is right now you have to through records out the window now its all about seating. If you would have told me the Rockets are 21-14 and are sitting in the final spot to make the playoffs I would not believe it.
This is all ON how Mcgrady responds. If he responds being the T-Mac we know, I see no problem with us moving back up to the top 3 in the standings. It has to happen quick though.
No need to panic to the point of making a stupid move but something needs to be done. If you're going to make a move make it now, don't wait until the trade deadline. We need chemistry now
we WILL make the playoffs. utah has worse injuries than us and without boozer theyre not gonna win many games. i just hope we dont get the 8th seed and play the lakers
I won't panic until it's few games before the playoffs. No need to panic yet,we're still over .500 and just play some bad games, this is the hardest time we should go through, after that,I guess we'll gel together and bounce up to the top.
I think too many people here don't watch the games before they react. And then add to it the Rockets being drama central this year (outside of NY), and everything is just too panicky. No need to panic yet because a fully healthy team (including a T-Mac who is mentally and emotionally into the game) hasn't really had a full stretch of games yet. I hope that Morey is done trying to showcase Head in order to increase his trade value (I know there's a possibility that Adelman really did believe in Head enough to play him over Wafer, but I'll hang on to the belief that the Rockets coach isn't that stupid). So yeah until a fully healthy rotation gets a stretch of games under their belts, then I don't think it's time to panic. Besides, it's not like the Rockets have great pieces to move. Signing Deke was a good thing. Starters: Rafer, T-Mac, Battier, Scola, Yao Bench Rotation: Brooks, Artest, Wafer, Landry Situational: Head, Barry, Hayes, Deke
No need to panic, but there has to be some unease. I'd say there's still lots of time left in this season, but if we end up with the 8th seed or worse at the end of the year, then it truly is time to panic. And when I mean panic, I mean the "starting to think about trading Yao Ming for draft picks and young players" kind of panic.
i would start panicking just because the momentum right now is not swinging the right direction. poor attitudes, injuries still occurring, and we're not playing smart basketball.
A trade would be nice but the only trade the Rockets can make will be trading Head and Hayes but what can that get you? I just have a feeling TMac will not be dealt.
I'm no where near worried. We'll be back in the top five to top three soon enough. Our injuries just caught up to us now. We'll be back. Watch out after the All-Star Break.
Look at how many away games we've already played. After this road trip, our schedule becomes an advantage for us. I'm not panicked, but would gladly like Morey to make a move for another scoring guard/ small forward. I'd like to pry away Jerry Stackhouse for cheap...but that won't be happening.
I would not be that optimistic about this any more. We're just injury plagued and do not play at full strength no matter how hard we try. Wafer was healthy til' tonight's game, what exactly happened to him?It seemed like he felt it when jumping up for a layup and limping after that clutch tier.Is this guy okay and has go-ahead to play the next game?I love the efforts he put into the game.
The question is before the playoffs, will there be enough games (30-35) with a fully healthy rotation for chemistry to develop. There are questions about whether McGrady or Shane will be 100% this season. If one is going to panic, that's enough right there. Agreed we still don't know yet how good this squad can be. But we may never find out. As the season continues without much progress, the likelihood that everything will work out decreases. The clock is ticking. If everyone isn't healthy by the end of the month, expectations should be lowered. If everyone isn't perking by the All-Star break, kiss a long playoff run goodbye.
Wafer's not injured. He played 40 minutes so he probably wasnt used to playing so much. You dont want to be in 8th place after half the season. Shouldnt take until they're in the 11th seed to be worried. But it probably will.
I've been worried since we started playing like crap. I knew we were only a couple games out of the lottery.
