Pippen was the worst imo. He was a scrub on offense without MJ anyways. Tmac has had his share of moments going all out and giving nothing. Like another poster said in another thread....he still has a small chance to change what his legacy will be remembered as...its really up to him.

Wish we had pursued Tmac for Billups and Prince. We would be sick and honestly a legit contender.

Yao, Scolandry, Prince, artest, billups with a deep azz bench.

sigh...tough being a rockets fan these days.

AntiSonic this saga isn't quite over yet. You won't be able to judge until Mcgrady is gone because the story can still play out in a couple different ways.

    1. Someone could light a fire under Mcgrady's ass and he starts playing atleast as good as he played last year.

    2. He could leave Houston without ever returning to form and be forever ridiculed.

If #1 happens, obviously, we're in championship contention and winning a title would sure give alot of us amnesia. If #2 happens he is BY FAR the worst rocket in history. Our hopes of being great hinge on him. He decides our future...and his legacy.

Because he is supposed to be a leader of the team it has to be Grady. Pippen was on Dreams team.

    I can't decide.

And that is one of the most depressing things I can remember on this BBS.

I wouldn't call Tracy a quitter just yet. But right now all this is starting to look like Orlando or Toronto all over again. It has not come to that point yet, but it's scary to just think about that.

Until T-Mac starts dissing his teammates with childish insults or demands a trade, Pippen by 100 miles.

McGrady will be remembered more cuz of his way longer tenure with the team.

But Pippen packed in so much quit into 1 year, consistent daily quit. With more realistic title hopes on his team than these past few Yao-Tmac teams. And ended badly to where there wasnt a chance to ever look back fondly on anything.

Pippen's 1 year quit total = 80 cans of quit
McGrady's entire Rockets career total = 100 cans

Mcgrady at least spread his over 5 seasons.

Pippen was overrated and I basically thought he was just a role player. I have no idea why the Rox picked him up. Tmac you suck

i swear, this has to be the greatest hub for mellow-dramatic posters on the web.

T-mac gives up down by 30 in a depressing game and everyone goes ape doody. who the heck cares? He's not the reason we lost, the whole team played like crap. THE WHOLE TEAM.

oh this is r****ded. T-Mac has had an inexcusable effort of late, but gimme a fking break, comparing him to Quitten is a disgrace.

    Is it really?

McGrady clearly has more documented offenses. The fact that Pippen isn't running away with this says a lot, considering he was the closest thing to Hitler since John Stockton around these parts for so long.

Did you even watch the game? TMac gave up way before this game was decided and they were never close to being down 30 while he was on the floor. He chumped out, just call it what it is. He's a loser. He's admitted to quitting on teams before and now he's quitting on this team.

I missed yesterday's game and can only go off what's been posted here and by Blinebury. So all I know is he had a worthless effort yesterday and a subpar season so far; I'm not ready to give up on T-Mac or start comparing him to the biggest scum to ever play for the organization. After all, I think sticking with T-Mac and hoping he comes around when it matters while resisting the urge to trade him/bench him gives the Rockets the best chance to win it all this season imo.

I'm still sad we traded Franchise for this bum. I'd rather have lost 4 straight in the first round with a true Rocket like Francis than McGrady.

To answer your question, McGrady is the bigger quitter. He was here longer. Pippen was here for a single strike-shortened year. McGrady has been teasing us for years with his preseason "this is the best team ever" comments.

what percentage of members do we have now that weren't rockets fans during the quitten tenure? i think that, combined with this being so recent/fresh on our minds makes it a bit more skewed.

i agree with pmac, we can't truly decide until the saga is over.

Consider though that it was more than 10 years ago when Quitten was a Rocket. I think a lot of people don't remember the sour taste that he left us or weren't Rockets' fans then.

T-mac over the course of a career might be a bigger quitter but as a Rocket Quitten was a bigger one.

Pippen had 22/5/8 when Jordan didn't play in 94. He also lead the Bulls to 55 wins and was one bs call by Hugh Hollins away from probably going to the Finals.

Saying Pippen was a scrub without Jordan shows how little you know about the game. If Pippen was nothing without Mike, why did they only have two fewer wins the year Jordan retired?

It's more likely that newer members are T0Fs.
