Agent, You don't get it, one bad apple can spoil the bunch. Tmac may not have been a cancer before, but he is clearly one now. Did you read Rafer's quotes about whether the team is on the same page, and he said "Not at all"..... Sometimes, it is better to cut loose a good player, to make the team better. You have consistently said, just get Tmac back to his 20/6/6 days...and everything will be alright. Well, all that has to happen is Tmac begins to try and he can do that...but for some reason, he isn't. We are not going to agree.....I think Tmac is killing this team...and it is hurting everyone else's performance......you don't. Ok.... DD
Your logic is that todays loss was because of Tmac. I've pointed out many flaws in your argument. The fact that while Yao, Artest, Brooks, Barry and Head were unmotivated (apparently because of McGrady), guys like Wafer, Scola and Alston played with some motivation. If Wafer, Scola and Alston can play motivated, then the rest of the team can, and therefore it "McGrady poisoning the team". And... he may not be one next week if its possible to go from cancer to not cancer in less than 3 months. I don't need a quote from Rafer to know that the team isn't on the same page. By the way Houston is playing its pretty obvious. I agree. But if we cut him for nothing, we might as well start the rebuilding process now. If we can get a JRich type player for Tmac. I'll sign the papers right now. Problem is... we aren't getting those kinds of offers. And we aren't going to be able to make a post season run with out McGrady or an equivalent talent (equivalent to last seasons McGrady I mean), then we might as well wait till the off season to move him if we do. The only point of making a trade now would be because we think we can win a title. If he can, we WILL be fine. But from a management point of view, it makes no sense to just cut the guy, or trade him for scraps. The goals are either win a title or rebuild. If we trade him for scraps we're good enough to maybe compete for the 8th seed, but we aren't in rebuilding mode either. Which is the worst place for a franchise to be in. We don't lose anything by waiting. I'm content with just riding it out for this season. We turned it around last season after starting 17-17. I think we can turn it around after 21-13.
Wow,I'm okay with Yao's performance, that guy just pumped himself out and should take a breather. He said he felt it goin' in the hole but the shots just rattled out the rim. That hurt his faith and confidence sometimes. Also,Yao moved pretty well on the court and do the help defense on the weak side. Just TSlacks,he just didn't do nothin' to keep us stay in the game.No excuses for him,he's done.
Being a "Cancer" of our squad is a very harsh depiction of Mac, although I can mirror an explanation for such nickname. I believe that trading Tracy will bring more obstacles for this team to manage. Tracy is playing atrocious. However, I insist on my current theory that his poor performance is only temporarily.
The Chronicle basically just said exactly what I have been saying, he quit and the rest of the team noticed and it affected them. A big hearty raspberry for my pal Agent. DD
I read the article. They don't call Tmac a cancer, they don't say he was the sole reason we lost the game. Besides, leave it to the media to sensationalize a "showdown" between Adelman and Tmac. It sells papers. The only thing factual we can get from the pair of articles is that Tmac has been playing like crap lately. Which I've agreed with.
DD, here's when you can say "I told you so": if Tmac gets traded or benched (meaning we're basically no longer playing him). Or if he finishes the season averaging 16 points a game and 40% shooting. You can bring this post up and say I told you so. Because if everything you say is true, then Tmac is probably a week from getting benched permanently. Until that happens you aren't right. On the other hand, I get to say "I told you so" if Tmac makes it the rest of the season in the Rockets rotation and averaging over 16 points and over 40% shooting (which would mean he would've had to have played better during the 2nd half of the season, which is what I'm hoping for).
God. How can this be happening. Who would thought that one day rockets would come to a point where Tmac has to be traded. Everyone had much hope in M&M. But every year something goes wrong. It's either a lost in game 7 or injuries or blah. This is just unbelievable.
Anyone who voted for four should be banned and I'm not kidding. People who quit and jump off shouldn't be allowed back on.
Rockets can afford to sign another vet min contract today. Below is a list of free agents: Mickael Gelabale Robert Horry Ira Newble Doug Christie Patrick Ewing jr (Sign as a future trade piece? as Walsh is supposed to be high on him) If any of these players are willing to accept a non-guaranteed deal they could help while Battier is out.
tmac needs to go. but a team with yao as the best player is going nowhere. it may not have to be now but rockets need to start thinking about rebuilding.
sit tmac,.,,rest Artest and battier ....and play what we have got left with...when every piece is ready,,then we should be ready..
we need to bench players like tmac and rafer. Tmac for his injury/excuss/quitting, and rafer to feel the heat. Let bench warmers like wafer and AB play more. Start Barry at the point, play hayes abit more. Take some time out of landry, his very inconsistent at this moment.
