It would make sense for two reasons. 1.) Stern wants a Lakers-Cavs finals so he can get good ratings 2.) Celtics want to turn a bad-boy into a good-boy.
good, now it's interesting to hear rumours, didn't Steve Nash just expressed his desire to play for Knicks or Toronto Raptors next season?
Sweet.... Boston is about to contract CANCER. Every other City I go Every other team (its all about ME) No matter where I go I see the same loss Everywhere I go, its all about padding stats waiting for checks at the end of every week I just seen ya on my old team after I left Now you tearin it up makin me look bad Never put me on the active list so here I go Follow the leader and peep the drama that I'm going through It's All About ME (Yeah, its All About me)
Championship teams with an establised clubhouse have a great calming effect on alleged malcontents. Marbury would do well on a team with solid leadership... DD
I can't remember the last time one 'knucklehead' brought down a championship team but its pretty easy to name championship teams that won with these types in pretty big roles.
just to name one, the cancer named Terrel Owens, who has turned a SuperBowl-caliber team into a pedestrian (W / L ) one.
This is pretty true. If Dennis Rodman couldn't screw things up for Chicago then I doubt Marbury can for Boston. One can hope though right?
Very surprising the C's would so willingly risk their chemistry over somebody so nuclear and poisonous. I mean, I see the upside in the deal. There's a good chance he wants to silence his doubters and repair his image. Still, this could blow up in their faces just as easily. I guess Cassell and company will keep him in line.
Baller, Rafer was a malcontent in Toronto.......sometimes what you read is not really what it is .....Marbury came into camp in shape, ready to compete, this situation is not one of his doing but of D'Antoni's.... DD
Who do you believe? The cancerous coach killer or the coach with no reason to lie. D'Antoni may be a bit of a tool but he gets the benefit of the doubt in my book. Marbury is a selfish, conceited POS that only cares about himself and getting paid. Let's also not forget that Marbury showed up to training camp, competed for the starting job and lost to Duhon. Once that happened he seemed to make up his mind to get another tattoo on his head that reads: STAY AWAY. P.S. Rafer had what....one incident in Toronto? I hardly think that makes him a malcontent. For comparison's sake, definitely not on Marbury's level.
"chemistry" is the most misused term in basketball.. it's defined as "how players on a particular team fit in together and complete each other on the basketball court".. one player has ZERO effect on "chemistry". worst case scenario? they waive his a$$. I hope the smarta$$es that went "oh noes! say no to da Marbury! he cancerous! we no want Rox lose chemicalisms!" will be happy when Marbury is holding up the championship trophy..
As much as I think Marbury is a piece of **** I can see why the Celtics would bite on this. For him to sign you would assume he knows hes going to be in a backup role, they have big ego's and vets in KG, Allen and Pierce who could probably keep him in check and if it does not work they probably only spent the min on him and can waive him for no real loss. At the end of the day he is an above average player.... not as good of one as he thinks but better than most reserves in the league.
