Hes on the market, would you guys love to get him? Hes a very good shooter and I believe this year he was shooting 42 percent from 3s before he got injured. Furthermore, he is a brilliant defender for the PG position. 6'3" and pretty quick for his size. I believe he is only 25 years old as well. Discuss please.
In NBA 2K9, I took advantage of just plain old season mode's doormat of a computer and traded Rafer Alston for Kirk Hinrich straight up. I felt a little dirty, so I think I threw in a second round pick as well. Seeing as how 2K9 is the harbinger for all things accurate, I've taken the Rockets to the Finals to face the Heat after sweeping Denver, Portland, and San Antonio in the playoffs. So, yes; this is a good trade.
Now that Francis has been traded away and Deke signed it's too hard to work out a scenario where the Rockets stay under unless McGrady is involved. It's not worth doing if McGrady is included. I'll hold out my hope for Nando De Colo in next year's draft.
Are Justin Reed and Jackie Butler's contract's tradable? I see them on the roster as expirings but could we package them with Head if possible for him?
In another thread I made my case for trading for Hinrich including how to do it and why both teams would do it. Also, included is a post about him being ahead of schedule in rehabbing his thumb and possibly being back on the court in 2 weeks: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=4130352&postcount=13 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=4130363&postcount=15 This is a no brainer. He seems like a perfect fit for the Rockets. I think he can be had by the Rockets.
How about we do our first rounder, Hayes, Head and Rafer for Hinrich? I think it's worth it. Screw depth, we can sign people to 10-days then remainder of the season. This team can TAKE an injury to anyone but Yao: Yao/Deke/Dorsey Scola/Landry Battier/Artest T-Mac/Wafer/Barry Hinrich/Brooks I'd be ecstatic. Hell, if Alexander ever thought there was something worth paying the tax, this should be it. That starting line-up and bench would be dominant.
I believe we can do either of these two options: Option 1: Alston and Head or Hayes for Hinrich Option 2: Battier and Hayes for Hinrich
+1 I would only do it without the 1st rounder. Hinrich would fit this system perfectly. He has great range and can spread the floor for McGrady and Yao to use.
Neither scenario works as both put the Rockets over LT. The Rockets traded away Francis and included a draft pick just to get under LT. Last season the Rockets traded away Snyder and a draft pick to get under LT.
The first option would work but it would have to be Alston, Head, AND Hayes. You're losing quite a bit of salary flexibility though with that move. I believe Alston, Head, and Hayes are all expiring contracts next season. But that's a move that I think the Rockets should at least consider. I still think Hayes is a valuable defensive specialist that we would miss, though. The second option I like less. We overload ourselves with PGs and small scoring guard while losing depth elsewhere.
Worzel, Would Head, Hayes, and Alston for Kinrich work as far as keeping the Rockets below the LT? If not, then it's a moot point to discuss it, because Les won't go over the LT, although in this case he probably should.
agreed. i too like the first option better. (thought head is a fa after this year?) jvg was really (i mean REALLY) high on hinrich.
