Been trying to decide myself. It seems it comes down to which song list you like better.

i went with rockband because i felt it has a better song list than the guitar hero world tour and the downloadable songs for rockband outnumber guitar hero considerably.

these games are pretty much all the same there are a few gimmicks (guitar hero's slide bar and rockband solo tapping) but for the most part these games will only sell as well as the songs they contain. based on that if I had to choose just one I would go with rockband. (i assume u mean rockband 2)

Advantage of Rock Band 2 is that you can borrow/rent Rock Band 1 and export all (nearly) of the songs for $5.

Rockband (1 and 2) for me. It's all about the Downloadable songs that I've purchased to build an extensive library of tunes. New stuff comes out each week, usually 6 to 9 songs or so.

why not just get both? the instruments are compatible on both games and you can just pick up a copy of the game you don't buy on ebay for $40.

if i was listening to the radio i think i prefer more of the songs on guitar hero when compared to rock band 2, but as a fun factor the rock band songs are more challenging- and thus more fun, imo. that's on drums, not sure about guitar.

plus when you add in the ability to import rockband 1's setlist plus tons more downloadable songs, rock band is by far better.

i've also added the cymbals to my rock band 2 kit and if you go into freestyle mode you have a 7 - 8 piece electronic drum set to mess around with.

guitar hero is also fun, i downloaded the whole new metallica album and the new oasis album comes out in a month. i'm pumped for that.

    More songs: RB (http://www.rockband.com/music/songs)
    More tricks: GH
    More "special editions": GH
    More instruments: SAME ?
I have been asking myself the same thing... but... eh, are you sure I can add all instruments to GH WT? My girls (10 and 8 years old) and I played "Eye Of The Tiger" at Worst Buy and they liked it. We had so much fun. :D
~X( DARN IT!!! Warn a brother next time!!!

wow importing the rockband 1 songs for 5 bucks? I think that might have sealed it. Is the rockband 2 drum set wireless like guitar hero's?
