T-Mac, Artest, and Battier. The Rockets need to exchange one of those guys for a healthy equivalent. These injuries are hurting the team too much. It's nearly half way through and they don't look like they're getting better.
Considering he wasn't doing much anyways and he has been getting burned on defense lately, not like it's a big loss. Might as well let him recuperate.
Well, we just signed a spry, young 45-year-old to address other potential injury situations. Artest can fill in for Battier. If Yao goes down, Mutombo will have no problem playing 35 mpg. I know he couldn't even do that last year and now he's a year older, isn't close to game shape and hasn't played basketball in half a year but he's an amazing guy. Amazing guys can do anything.
I think it's high time Clutch creates a '2008-09 Injury thread' and stickys that mofo. I'm starting to think the Rockets will be lucky to get 50 wins, and am becoming more and more amazed at how impressive last season really was.
Not too bad news. Barry's been playing well. Oh that shot of his... As long as Artest stays in the game, we'll be okay.
I'm now wondering if Shane will ever get "fully healthy" this season. He already said the whole season would be about pain management but his performance may never get back to normal. Oh well.
Bummer. Didn't he say he will play with pain the whole season? Will it always be this bad? That sucks. Hope he feels better.
its just more than laughable at this point but hopefully shane will recover soon and be back out there. sigh i think i may just close my eyes and wait for april to come around to see where this team is at.
At least with Battier, you don't need to question the legitimacy. And he's not prone to injuries. Hope he gets better soon. Evan
This team needs to start drafting based on injury risk assessment. I know Battier isn't injury-prone, I'm just looking at the overall team. Sure, just about every player in the league has some kind of physical issue but we are a team where our 2 highest paid, most depended upon players are missing time every season. A 7'6, 300+ lb center doesn't project to have a long shelf life. This team needs to give it all they got this season then regardless of the outcome, start the rebuilding process. Unfortunately, Les won't be willing to let go of Yao. If he was for any reason, the readability of posts at CF.net would improve drastically. Of course, traffic would go down considerably, too, as the Yao Ming maniacs transferred their allegiance to his new team.
Yes,he did. I don't think it will always be that bad. He doesn't have a permanent injury. I do feel he will play with pain through the entire season though which is unfortunate. I'm beginning to overlook his limitations to a certain extent since Artest joined us. I wish him well.
It doesn't matter. It 's still early in the season. We can afford a bunch more losses to teams like the Wizards.
Let me go on head and say it. "It's better to be injured now so we will be healthy at the end of the season"
There is no doubt about Yao Ming's durability problems, however I would like to retain him beyond 2010 provided management doesn't overpay him.(Dirk is willing to take less money in order to strengthen his team). I hope Yao will do it too. McGrady is the one who needs to go after his contract expires IMO.( I don't dislike him but his injuries and inability to fight it through have taken his athletic gifts away possibly for good. Artest shouldn't get more than 9M over a 3 year period. This could enable management to get a younger, healthier but experienced player in the 2010 FA Sweepstakes.
