Bored at work I was reading some top games of all time lists, so I thought I'd post something on here. What are your top 5-10 NES games of all time? I chose NES because I figure that's a system most people on here had at some point in time. 10 may be too many, but at least 5 would be nice. Mine would be: Honorable Mentions - R.C. Pro Am, Dr. Mario, Tetris (this would have been on the top list, but I mostly played it on Game Boy), Double Dragon, Ninja Gaiden, Excitebike, Skate or Die. 10) Super Mario Brothers 9) Tecmo Bowl 8) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 7) Wizards & Warriors 6) Mike Tyson's Punchout 5) Legend of Zelda 4) Life Force/Gradius 3) Contra 2) Super Mario Bros. 3 1) Final Fantasy As you can see I was a big RPG fan, I spent countless hours playing Final Fantasy. A few years ago I actually uploaded Nesticle (an emulator that allows you to play NES games on your cpu) to my cpu at work and started playing Final Fantasy at work. Beating it with 4 white mages may have been my greatest NES accomplishment of all time. Then there were the games I enjoyed, but never could beat (damn you Mike Tyson and your 1 punch KO) such as Mike Tyson's Punchout, TMNT and Wizards and Warriors. Man TMNT drove me crazy, I must have played forever before I realized how to use that grapple hook to get across the buildings! How about a list of your favorites? Pugs
Funny thing is, when I look back on my NES days... I had terrible games... they were so god awful, but I was in awe of video games as a whole, so I didn't care. If I were to list the games I spent the most time playing as a kid, it would be laughably bad.
Nothing wrong with that, I still have my SNES. Feel free to list those if you'd like. I guess I should have made it "Favorite video games you played as a kid" but then my list would just be too long! Pugs
Honorable mentions: Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, Paper Boy, Duck Hunt, Super Mario 1 & 2 10) Double Dribble 9) Mega Man 3 8) Hogan's Alley 7) Super Mario 3 6) TMNT 5) Tecmo Super Bowl 4) Zelda 3) Contra 2) Metroid 1) Final Fantasy Damn, left off Mike Tyson's Punch Out.. that'd go at #3 I think and knock everything down a peg
Zelda: A link to the Past Donkey Kong 1 Donkey Kong 2 Donkey Kong 3 Goof Troup (donn't ask me why, I was addicted to that game) Mortal Kombat Super Mario World NBA JAM (i effing loved that game) These are the games I couldn't stop playing, I beat all of them hundreds of thousands of times...
Ok I'm going to try my best to list the good games I played.. Arch Rivals RC Pro AM Blades of Steel Paperboy Dragon Warrior Excitebike Kid Icarus Ducktales Star Tropics Ninja Gaiden
Super Mario Brothers Super Mario Brothers 2 Duck Hunt Rad Racer Zelda (whichever the gold one was that had memory) Mike Tyson's Punchout

1) Little League Baseball Championship Series 2) Tecmo Super Bowl 3) Tecmo Bowl 4) Super Mario Bros. 3 5) A Boy and His Blob 6) Duck Hunt 7) Super Mario Bros. 8) Bayou Billy 9) Mike Tyson's Punch Out 10) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II (The first one sucked horribly, I can't believe so many people like it.)
Tecmo Super Bowl Super Mario 3 Double Dragon Bases Loaded Rad Racer River City Ransom TMNT II Super Contra Base Wars Zelda 2
Legend of Zelda TMNT II Arcade edition TMNT I BattleToads Final Fantasy Mario III Double Dragon Mario I Duck Hunt Ice Hockey MegaMan NES is a little before my time, but I loved all these games, plus a couple more that I can't remember the name of. Zelda was by far my favorite, and I've played over and over. It was the whole reason for buying the collector's edition for GameCube(No more freezing up, or blowing on cartidges.)
