I agree 100%. Yao had been shooting terribly in the last game. Why, with only a few seconds left, would you give it to Yao for the last shot? I would have rather had Tracy or Ron drive, Ron take a jump shot, Barry or AB shoot. I wouldve rathered barry, ron, ab, or head take a 3pt attempt to win the game, than cold Yao shoot a hook shot to tie...

Against the Jazz, I was screaming at the tv, telling Rick to stop going to Yao, he wasnt doing anything... Terribly coaching the past few games, imo

I would rather watch 'boring' defensive minded games that we win, than 'exciting' games we lose. True fans dont get bored by their team. I could care less about what the rest of the country thought about our games, so long as we win.

Boring win is ALWAYS > Exciting loss.

With JVG we overachieved. There was a severe lack of talent. We had some straight scrubs on our team yet JVG, T-Mac, and Yao took us to the playoffs twice, both went to 7 games. JVG had intensity and a passion you could see, and we had an identity under him. Now i'm not saying he doesn't have his flaws, he does, (and that's the reason he's not coaching here anymore) but JVG doesn't suck as a coach. He may not be the best, but he doesn't suck.

With Adelman, we're underachieving. Actually, our record isn't that bad, but you can see the team isn't anywhere near the level we expected them to be at every night. I had dreams of winning the championship with this team, but right now, it's getting scary thinking about getting out of the second round, assuming we get out of the first.

On another note, I really didn't think the Rockets were boring at all under JVG. I liked watching our defense win us games, "boring" as that may be. But then again, Adelman has really made this team so exciting...

The real problem with Adelman is that he is changing his starting lineup every night, like he's changing his underwear while he is trying to implement his offense.

    Wait... that's his fault?

No, its his fault that he doesn't get the respect from T-Mac to be told in advance when T-Mac is going to be out. Do you think the way T-Mac has been acting would've been at all acceptable under Van Gundy? Not to mention that the changing starting lineup wasn't why we lost yesterday or to the Hornets or why we almost gave the Utah game away. As soon as Adelman put the starters back in I knew we were going to lose - he makes poor in game decisions.

Okay, let's grant the TMac thing for argument's sake. So the injuries of Battier, Artest, Alston... are his fault? The starting lineup didn't do well because they have not been playing together very much. Last night, we would have won if Yao made just two more shots like he normally does. And it's Adelman's fault that Yao didn't make those shots?

BTW, if you think JVG could control TMac's attitude in the regular season, think again.

with every passing game it looks like more and more of u are starting to see the REAL culprit: NO DEFENSE!

u guys can focus on the little itty bitty things all u want, u can b**** about certain players all u want, but in the end of the day there is ZERO consistency from this team and they lose to too many bad teams cause they have ZERO consistency on defense and regularly allow other teams to score over a 100

say what u may about adelman but rox never were and never will be the sac kings or the phonix suns and u cant expect to outscore every team when u play inside out and like to slow it down like the rox do

we lost our way under adelman, we no longer have our salvation, we lost our ability to defend

stick a fork in these guys, i dont care if tmac gets back to orlando tmac, the problem is defense and the team has no identity at all

its clear to me now adelman is the problem, iam done with his failed philosophy and his lack of emphasis on defense, i already know now this team (the most talented team in the league on paper) aint going nowhere as long as they play no D

i wont make fun of dallas anymore for playing no defense, the rox are already there

I've said this a while now and some want to pull up point per possession or efg% or something like that. All I know is when a team shoots 45%, that means 1/3 shoots 43%, 1/3 shoots 45%, and a 1/3 shoots 47%. That means 2/3 of the teams will shoot 45% or better and the team is giving up 97ppg. That can't nor won't work.

Changing starting lineup is only one factor, we have many problems at the moment. If we can deal them, surely we are still competative in the league. Now we need to keep consistence urgently.

If you carefully watch the game
    You will find
Personal non-defense,Even follow the ball run
    Perhaps,
He wasted too much physical for 20'shot

I have to agree. Under JVG we knew what to expect. We were able to win a lot of games with our great defense. Maybe with Yao and Mac on the team we didn't score enough, but defense wins championships...

Right now we don't really know what we are. We are loosing games like crazy. We have no energy, still no chemistry at all. Down the stretch all we can do is to jack up 10 3s in the last two minutes, THAT IS ALL.

Teams are getting right by our guys for easy layups.

I would love to bring back JVG. I wanted him out, but with this group, with this talen he would win more.

Adelman There is nothing wrong with Princeton System
Each player has to change to adapt
Team co-operation and enjoy a happy
    But scoring is not thought

Defense does NOT win championship when you lack offensive firepower. Championships is about balance.

    What VG would do is...

    * Insert Chuck Hayes back into the starting lineup.
    * Bench players like Von Wafer because they don't have total recall of quantum physics level defensive rotations. (See Swift, Stromile).
    * Play Rafer Alston huge minutes because (in addition to not "trusting" Brooks) Rafer would run the offense for a full 24 seconds making sure the Rockets control the ball and the game and thus use every option of a totally inept offensive scheme.

The Rockets would then win 83 to 80 over teams like MEM. And still go out in the first round because they lack the fire power of the LAL, SAS, DEN, and even Utah.

Championships? Getting out of the first round has NEVER been about over emphasizing one end of the court. It's about assembling a roster of multi-dimensional players who buy into a defensive scheme. Having and emphasizing mono-dimensional players like Battier, Alston, Hayes, and Head is another recipe for disaster. Especially as the Rockets age before our eyes

Van Gundy? Been there, done that. VG had multiple attempts at getting out of the first round. At least give Adelman two.

i dont like that he doesn't call timeouts, and he takes out people when theyre playing well, he is too loyal to his starters. i was happy he didn't have artest in in the 4th, but then he put him back in. artest is really having a problem playing within the offense, why don't tmac, or artest get easy layups? is it because they don't move where they are supposed to like scola, landry and crew or is it because the d focuses too much attention and makes sure they don't get lost

I am bugged that he keeps running out his star players when they are sucking balls.

Bench them like Popovich...put in Wafer when Artesticles and TBrick are struggling.

How many games have they had together? The Rockets aren't in the position to do what you're suggesting. Pops knows who he will go to in the playoffs.

For the Rockets that's up in the air, it's still a learning process. They're learning whether to keep them or trade them in a fortnight.

The Scolandry combo is the worse defensive forwards in the league. Both struggle with the same type of player.

Hopefully RA watches the film of Deke today. Gasol was having his way with Yao out in foul trouble, and when Deke was inserted it all came to a halt. I would have liked to see Deke inserted earlier though. I think Deke can have a contagious effect on defense.

i think adelman is slowly adjusting to integrating tracy back into the offense and we did fine for 3 quarters offensively for every game since tracy's been back. in the 4th, he just has to find a better way to sub tracy in to keep his rhythm b/c tracy plays/shoots well for 3 quarters and goes scoreless in the 4th.

secondly, defense HAS to be his fault someway somehow. how can he not see what deke did out there in 2-3 minutes was better than what yao, scola, and landry have done in the entire game? the intimidation factor that deke presents is just not there with stats unless you see the game. marc gasol was literally scared to post him up.

until our perimeter players heal up, he has to play deke a little bit to be an "eraser."
