Simply ridiculous. All I can say is F&*&& you Tracy McGrady.
You're not the only one who's hurting. If anything, I'd rather rest Yao or Artest than you!

i agree he should suit up anyway so he can go in during crunch time or if the offense is slacking, he may not have the shooting touch since he won't be warmed up, but dribbling and passing should always be there.

Sometimes i just want to go and smack him to see how he reacts so I can know what his threshold for pain really is...

    Fascinating.

I'll assume he'll be playing in the games against the lesser opponents in each back-to-back. It's really best for the team that way.

I know some of you aren't liking Tmac's attitude about this situation. But at least Tmac isn't completely bailing on the team. If he is true to his word, Tmac could miss only about 6-7 games for the rest of the year. And if he's still giving 100% in every game he is out there, I'm happy.

One thing I do like about Tmac is now at least he's telling us fans what what to expect from him the rest of the year. It's much better than being in the dark about his condition. It was definitely handled better than the Starbury fiasco. Props go to the Rockets organization for cleaning this up. It's better for the fans as well for coaching staff/players.

Let's just see how Tmac responds to his word...

Can somebody please explain to me what the exact problem is with T-Mac's knee? I thought he just had it scoped a long time ago. Is it tendinitis? Is it just chronic pain? What's really wrong with him and his knee?

Please don’t do that as you might break his spine. Oh, wait, he doesn’t have one.

This has gone way beyond frustrating -- Tracy is becoming a lead weight for the Rockets. His attitude has to be driving his coaches and teammates crazy -- it's very distracting at the minimum.

This is lame but I doubt it will happen through the whole season. Once his knee feels a little better later in the season he better be playing every game. I can't believe you guys are taking his words at face value...still.

Arthroscopic surgery. I believe he had torn cartilage in the knee that he sustained in a collision during the season. The cartilage was removed and the area was "cleaned out" in order to leave only he healthy tissue. The procedure does not involved reattaching muscle or connective tissue.

The only logical reasons I can think of for him still having trouble are:

He is a very slow healer
He didn't rehab properly after the surgery
He has a low threshold for pain
He is simply using it as an excuse because he doesn't want to play

Let me guess, on the 2nd half of the back to backs, he uses that extra night to cheat on his wife?

If McGrady sitting and resting here and there right now leads to a healthy McGrady come playoff time, leads to the Rockets getting out of the first round, leads to a possible Championship, then he can take off the whole damn rest of the season for all I care.

It's about winning titles, and a healthy, rested TMac is better than a limping TMac. Quite frankly, no one knows just how those knees feel from game to game except him. It's frustrating sure, but again if he feels that's best for him and for the team long-term, then so be it.

OK, one game for every b2b. I hope TMac would from now on play his games with energy and intensity. Never mind whether you can score many points in a game, TMac, we just want to see you play with fighting spirit.

Oh no...that is not it at all, it was even less than that...he had loose bodies removed, nothing torn, just some normal wear and tear stuff cleaned out.

it kinda makes sense that a guy having problems with extra-marital affairs should avoid back-to-backs, because back-to-backs to lead to other things really quickly.
