actually scola is averaging 11 and 7.7

landry is averaging 8.7 and 5

    scola + landry= scolandry= double double

    original statement stands= you fail

We have enough rebounding and defense on this team. We NEED players that can score and hit open shots. Charlie V can score, pass, run the floor and hit open shots at 6'11. He has very good range on his shot that would stretch the D. I wouldn't mind adding him to the team. He would be really good off the bench for us.

    Being fair:
Scola has 8 D-D (tied, #18 in the West) this year
    Carl Landry has 2.

So to correct the statement, Scola is "getting" the double-doubles, not Landry.

Scola tends to get sold short on this board in deference to Landry. I enjoy having both at the 4, though.

I'm over this trade already, I initially thought it might be a good deal but I really think we would miss Landry in the end. Only way I would deal Landry is to package him with Rafer for a starting point guard. We are good in all positions except starting point and back up center.

Scola and Landry are both very valuable to this team, we shouldn't even think about trading either of them. And of course Scola is going to have more double-doubles, he usually plays more minutes

I wasnt denying the rockets' need for someone like Landry, but i think its ridiculous for some people on here to say they would give up scola over landry to get a taller and athletic PF, which would fill a similar role to Landry's, so you're stuck with 2 guys who play the same. The reason i think people see Landry as "better" is because he makes plays with flair and therefore stands out more, but i don't think either is clearly better overall than the other and I definitely don't think landry is all show, like say, a gerald green.

I'm not exactly in love with CV, but I think he's tall enough and athletic enough to get dunks if put in the same situations as landry, PLUS he can stretch the D since he can make 3s. If I remember correctly, the Rockets gave Landry AND Mike Harris "homwework" during the offseason. One thing they wanted is for them to improve their 3 point shooting. Regardless of whether this rumor has validity, i think the staff wouldn't mind acquiring a PF with length, some athletic ability and range..pretty much a Robert Horry type of player..

How is this thread still going?

According to Jonathan Feigen at the Houston Chronicle, there was never any validity to this rumor to begin with.

Not being a douche but really where? I'm just curious because I wouldn't mind taking this trade.

    Found it:

If you search for Landry should be in the comments. Jonathan says NO.
Damn that would have been nice...

Maybe the Mods can lock this thread then. No word from any LA media outlets, and a flat out denial by Feigen. Obviously, a bogus rumor with no validity.

    Lock it mods.

This rumor is probably false, but I wouldn't expect the Rockets to tell a reporter whether a trade is going down or not before it happens... even if it is Feigen.

The other part with this story is it was the 2nd/3rd thing mentioned in the article. Villanueva and Lue to OK City got more mention than Villanueva to Houston.

i think i would make the gamble and trade Villanueva for Landry, rockets need some length up front.

This rumor can die. We had better not give up Landry, at least not for CV.
