The NFL playoffs without the Cowboys and Pats is like the MLB playoffs without the Yankees AND Red Sox. Even better!
I like Dixon a lot but that was Tebow's Heisman all the way IMO, his stats were ridiculous. The same can't be said for this year though, not sure why he was in the mix over Harrell.
2007 Comparison Oregon was ranked #2 in the country at the time competing for a national title before Dixon went down. Florida was already a 3 loss team ranked around 15. Tim Tebow 13 games Passing 3286 yards 32tds/6 picks rushing 895 yards 23 tds Dennis Dixon 9 1/4 games Passing 2129 20tds/ 4 picks rushing 590 yards 9tds I don't mean to derail this thread and Tebow had sick stats but I have no doubt that Dixon would have closed the gap somewhat on the stats and led the Ducks to a NC title appearance and victory perhaps had he not gone down. Thus giving him the edge for Heisman. All this coming from a die-hard Ducks fan so there's some obvious homerism.
If you meant that Dixon should have won it if he didn't get injured, then I could probably agree to that. But even then, I don't think Dixon's numbers would have compared to Tebow's even had he played the entire season.
If you extrapolate based on the games he did play, he'd have come within about 300 yards passing, 50 yards rushing, and 1 TD passing - he'd still have been far short on TD's rushing. However, I think he was the clear front-runner going into it. The only way a sophomore QB on a 9-4 team can win it is if there's no top-tier star on a top-tier team. Dixon would have been that guy.
What's ridiculous is that a 12-4 Colts team will open ON THE ROAD at an 8-8 Chargers team. What's even more ridiculous is that the Chargers will probably win that game. This sucks.
It's sweet the joke of a team known as the Broncos gets knocked out of the playoffs and the referee mistake that cost the Chargers in the first Broncos game gets undone. It's also sweet that the Pats go 11-5 and still miss the playoffs. Life is very good this NFL season, one of the best ever. I hope the playoffs are as good. I didn't think Jacob Hester of LSU would make an NFL roster. He looked pretty good on that last Chargers drive. That dude is unnaturally strong.
Who else is with me in thinking that all 4 road teams could very well win their opening round match-ups? I mean seriously, especially with teams like Zona and SD opening at home against better teams, imo, I think we could see a 4 for 4 road sweep. Has that ever happened? I'd have to assume not.
Adam Clanton's THROAT is on fire (and will keep him off the air in the morning...like it's keeping him awake right now), So yeah, I am sick...but am STOKED about the sports weekend: Rox beat jazz in 2 OT's, Texans finish strong, AND the cowgirls get destroyed?? Good times, indeed...

Falcons win woo hoooooooooooo hopefully we beat the Cardinals. My Uncle is a Cowboys fan and had his Barber jersey on at the bar, I'll give him credit he stayed til the end hoping. Hoping was all he could do.
know why people hate the cowboys? because when your QB screws up the NFL writes a new rule for you to massage your hurt pee-pees kind of like these jackasses... only they just invented a new way to interpret the rule
I just got back to Austin from Philadelphia. My uncle lives in Newark, DE and had club seats to the game. It was an awesome experie... Wait... What's that I hear? Fly Eagles fly, on the road to victory. Fight Eagles fight, score a touchdown 1-2-3. Hit 'em low, Hit 'em high, And we'll watch our Eagles fly. Fly Eagles fly on the road to victory. E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES! The Eagles must have scored again.
