Isle of Capri Miami New York City Menorca Rome etc. Too hard to choose just one place to stay at... Just went back to the first post...hmm...landscape and scenery the only criteria... I say Tuscany.
Easter Island. There is something eerie about an island 1500 miles from land that some boat people found in search of the edge of the Earth, with no insects, then they died off because they cut down all their trees to erect Monolithic Stone Bobbleheads. There is something about history and the sea that attracts me. I really cannot explain my infatuation with those statues and how a perfect civilization killed themselves by raping Mother Nature.
Geez, tough question. Vail, Colorado-Great atmosphere Whistler, British Columbia-Best skiing that I have ever experienced New York City, New York Houston, Texas Orlando, Florida Orange County, California
My favorite place is in my head. I imagine a pond in the middle of an open field surrounded by a forest. There's no one around to interrupt the serenity. It's late at night and the moon is full and brushes everything with a blue tint. There are a couple of cumulous clouds floating by and they have a blue-purple color to them. Stars are sparkling, the wind is blowing gently and everything is right. I could lay there for hours. It's almost like that place is calling me to come. If I was a good painter I could show everyone what I mean. I wish I could go there.
I could probably handle living off of a sailboat....if I had to pick one area to sail this boat, I think the Aegean Sea could keep me happy for a while.
I would be happy with a spot of land on a vacant part of the Pacific Coast, Gulf of Mexico(Texas), or Australia (Great Barrier Reef). Florida's Emerald Coast (Destin, Ft Walton) is really pretty too. I also want to visit the Florida Keys.
If I had a boat I'd go out on the ocean And if I had a pony I'd ride him on my boat And we could all together Go out on the ocean Me upon my pony on my boat If I were Roy Rogers I'd sure enough be single I couldn't bring myself to marrying old Dale It'd just be me and trigger We'd go riding through them movies Then we'd buy a boat and on the sea we'd sail And if I had a boat I'd go out on the ocean And if I had a pony I'd ride him on my boat And we could all together Go out on the ocean Me upon my pony on my boat The mystery masked man was smart He got himself a Tonto 'Cause Tonto did the dirty work for free But Tonto he was smarter And one day said kemo sabe Kiss my ass I bought a boat I'm going out to sea And if I had a boat I'd go out on the ocean And if I had a pony I'd ride him on my boat And we could all together Go out on the ocean Me upon my pony on my boat And if I were like lightning I wouldn't need no sneakers I'd come and go wherever I would please And I'd scare 'em by the shade tree And I'd scare 'em by the light pole But I would not scare my pony on my boat out on the sea And if I had a boat I'd go out on the ocean And if I had a pony I'd ride him on my boat And we could all together Go out on the ocean Me upon my pony on my boat Yes, I could DEFINATELY do the whole boat thing . . . I don't like fish now, but I can learn to like fish. Man, that would be it right there. Just live on a boat!
San Francisco way too liberal for me....way too many earthquakes...but it's beautiful but ultimately, "turns out not where but who you're with that really matters."
And that's why Longview or Texarkana doesn't sound bad at all to me. When you've spent the entire 1 and 1/2 years living 100 miles away from your significant other, even Kabul wouldn't sound too bad.
I would want to be out West somewhere where the greens are ever and the air is dry: Colorado or Idaho. The Pacific Northwest is beautiful too-- though wetter. I moved to North Carolina to finish college, married, started a family, divorced, re-married, started another family, and man do I have some roots. Now I'll never live out West!
wow!! you've been that far away from her for that long?? i thought she was at UT law school and you lived in austin?? guess i misunderstood. i'm with you...but I'm SOOOO glad my wife loves Houston, because I honestly can't imagine living elsewhere!
I guess I should actually read the question before replying... Scenery only... Vail, Colorado Whistler, British Columbia' Florida North Carolina Lake Tahoe
