Is winning tonight under 2 overtime even good news?

The team certainly did not help Yao out tonight....for some reason the ball movement stopped...Yao was doubled...a couple of pass outs for 3 would have loosened up the paint.

And why did Rafer play more than AB again? And where was Luther? He played great in the first half then dissappeared in the 2nd....

Frustrating to watch, but at least it was a win.

Adelman should've unleashed the Four 3 point shooters out and then Yao Ming in the post.

They should have tried what the Magic use.

Rafer or AB, Brent Barry, Battier and Artest and then Yao

Yao would never be doubled under that lineup.

We actually need games like this. Forget the blowout wins that we should be having for a second, and think about it:

These types of games build characters, and makes us go into pressure situations. Picture an undefeated gladiator. What happens if he is about to be defeated? Never experiencing this type of situation before, he panics, and probably gets defeated.

Tonight, we were exploited but dominated also. We can see now, that we need to go to a person like Ron Artest to finish, but we can rely on Yao to pretty much get us a win.

We need situations like this to test us. Otherwise, we perform poorly in buzzer-beater situations.

What's your point of making this thread?

Are you kidding me?If that we blew the huge lead in the 4th and lost to Utah j*zz is good news,I don't know what's bad news to me.

They were playing without Boozer,Okur, and Millsap but managed to win double digit(If I remember correct)over the Mavs. Both team played back-to-back,no excuse,we just rotated well on any position except Yao's,no backup center cost us alot but at clutch moment,Ron stepped up and helped us get this one.

It's still good news to me.T-Mac could score any where he want and he's a no.1 defending spot for Utah and with him in the lineup if he's healthy,it would be a total difference.Mehmet Who?Carlos Loozer?Millsap's damn good though.

Yeah, no kidding. If we went 19-12 instead of 20-11, I would be kind of mad.

But you gotta admit, this game was amazing to watch. Nail-biter games > blowout games. That's not what the NBA is about.

Agreed, but whats the alternatives that are out there Eddy Curry & Troy Murphy?

I dont agree with just for the sake of change to trade Yao for Luol Deng & Tyrus Thomas cuz they fit the NBA standard of athletic attitude play.

A win is always good. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just wrong. But if your point is to say how pathetic we are to win to a wounded Jazz team. Let me remind you Artest is injured and looks this good. Rafer sucked 3 games in a row and Brooks is a better option and should eventually win the starting role. Battier is playing hurt and Tmac is MIA which might be a good thing. And they still win on back to backs. If the Rockets get healthy and Tmac gets his late season mental transformation then the future looks good. Of course that is a big if.

THE ROCKETS GUTTED OUT A GAME
    that is always good
should have been so tedious . .no but they didn't give up
even after F#%$% up . .they stayed the course and pushed through
    without TMac to save them

That is Progress . .that is good .. . .

I disagree, Rockets were better during whole game.

In the last quarter offense just went out.

Props for coach to recognize Artest's hot hand and leave out Yao in 2nd OT.

Any win is good. What was amazing is that no one could hit a jumper and Yao was fatigued late in the game and yet the Rockets emerged with a W. The best part of that was because Ron did something we have not seen a Rocket do in a decade. He put the team on his shoulders and carried it over the finish line and he did it aggressively....not by getting hot with jumpers at the right time. He barreled down the lane and scored, got fouled and physically punished his defender. I have not seen determination like that from a Rocket since Dream.

Hitting some long jumpers is nice but it takes a different mentality to force your defender to make a decision and force the officials to call something.

I don't get it. Aren't these guys supposed to be pros? There is no such thing as tired for playing 40 minutes of basketball.
