How many of you value wise wouldn't trade Hakeem Olajuwon for a top 15 pick?

This is a nice pick to have-if I recall last year, even if Toronto wins the tiebreaker for the 7th seed, we may still get the #14 pick, because the records would be tied, and it would go to the coinflip around.

I also think there is a significant drop off somewhere between 14-16-depending on who declares, of if any Pau Gasol-like surprises come about.

What could we do? Well, this is a fairly easy pick to move up from-notice two years ago, when we traded the #9 overall for the #15, and a future 1st round pick from a team most considered a contender for the top seed in the East.

So, after Falk calls in a favor from Stern to make up for the Mo and Glen injuries to get us the #1 pick, and after we draft Yao Ming, then we can trade #15+KT for Ron Artest or move up to nab Caron Butler.

Tank City 2K2: Resistance is futile. #1 pick imminent.

    Praise God!

Now take Woods with #5 and trade KT and #15 to Miami for #9, take Amare and then go to the summer leagues.

"hope" ? The Bucks have an option?

NIKEstrad -- hard to believe it happened! We tracked it from so long ago .... I really thought the Raptors were dead and done. Awesome. Now the question becomes will the Rockets give the pick to Memphis to satisfy that obligation?

Actually, this doesn't sound too far fetched. I read an article the other day that indicated Artest might be back on the block. If we could pull off that trade & pick a center with the 5th pick, we'd have plugged our two biggest holes.

Jonathen Feigan was on 610 discussing this very issue. He believes that Rudy will not want to do that. We owe the Grizzlies the pick this year or the next. Feigan said that Rudy would probably care about making the team better the next year. We would have to hold on to the pick or trade it or something to achieve that goal. If we give it to the Grizz we are not really making our team better for next year. He said Rudy is worried about next year, because if we dont have a good year he would most likely be fired.

I think Ron Artest would fit perfectly on this team. He's defensive minded!!

We got the pick! Dream's trade DOES look pretty good right now!:) Another reason to love him. I hope Toronto makes some noise, and that Dream gets to play like he can. I've got a team to follow in the playoffs. Just let him play!

Hopefully this pick goes to Memphis. That way, if we suck next year, we could keep our lotto pick.

Request to GMs and coaches: Would some of you please try doing what is best for the organization in the long run even if it doesn't make you look good in the short run? We need a little less Enron-type thinking in business and sports, not to mention government.

No way guy. The plan is to use our two nice picks for rookies that can cantribute or a rookie + pick up a young player via trade that improves our team. We can shoot for sending Memphis a 20+ pick next year. This is not unrealistic given our injuries + our record a year ago in a better WC.

Mna, if we could get Woods at #5 and Amare Stoudemire at #15, that would be pretty close to a perfect draft for the Rockets.

i hate to slow down some of your momentum fellas...but the pick may actually windup in the 20s. Seattle owes Toronto a first round pick and may ship that over to us instead of the #15.

According to Clutch and other prominent sources, Toronto must send their own pick in the deal.

    Perfect scenario:

We get the #1 pick thru the lottery and then trade the #15 pick and someone (maybe KT, maybe Mooche, maybe someone else or even both) to LAC for Odom.

Ming and Odom to the Rockets in the same off season.

A bird in hand... Let's use it to get something in a trade or for a sf/c or both. We should be much better next year.

    Ron Artest
    #15 | Guard-Forward | Indiana Pacers | Roster
    Height: 6-7 Weight: 246 lbs.

I would say he is a 3. He wouldn't be half bad with Oscar off the bench.

KT is too much for Artest though. How about the #15 and cash or a second rounder in another draft?
