Impose will on a game but not his own knee Guess his will is not as strong as he thought.....truthfully the main thing about TMAC that's frustrating is the fact that he isnt Hustling....how many times have you counted where his man is wide open for a jumper and he doesnt try and close out....and I remember beginning of season, he would draw alot of fouls to makeup for his shots not going...now he just kinda content with tossing up 3s or shooting off balance jumpers....I agree with Bull when he said last game that TMAC should be benched after a play he made in the 1st quarter....Shane and Ron are both hurt....but they atleast give some type of effort...we see it ...so we dont complain to much...but to just go the motions....I really think it was the pressure of everyone talking about him...that made him comeback..fans, newspaper, radio.....it seems like when he pushes himself....he does a great job...but sometimes mentally I think he just doesnt even bother to use his will to push past the pain
That was a sweet behind the back pass he made to the Hornets fans in the 1st row last night. Even better was when he pulled up on a wide open break away to the basket and passed it backwards in between two Cavs to Alston then got the ball back and clanked a 15-footer.
McGrady has some bad habits. They are often overlooked when he is physically well because the positives outshine the negatives. They are more apparent when he is physically not well. Last game was very frustrating to watch.
Here is the problem this team can't afford for him to pace himself this year or they will be pacing out of the playoffs.
In regard to soreness/pain/fatigue/injuries, as most would agree, TMac's recent judgment to play instead of rest can be more harmful then beneficial. I think that deep down Mcgrady wants to contribute and win any way possible (especially when Artest is out and Battier not well) even if his body won't let him and he looks terrible doing it, that is "intensity and passion" we don't see with the eyes. It's so obvious when TMac isn't playing like TMac, which is probably the most Irritating thing to watch, knowing that he is better off resting, rehabbing, fill in the blank ________, etc., LOL... and returning to play when he is physically, mentally, and emotionally ready to. Mcgrady has showed us that resting/rehab helped him play like Vintage T-Mac, but this night on/night off is more like a soap opera better suited for Hollywood. The way it appears now, fans, coaches, teammates don't know which T-Mac is going to show up to the game any given night. If you are going to rest, rehab, and ???, do it properly and come back without any excuses about health. Seeing you suffer on the court with the Rockets losing games, makes fans Suffer... especially considering that our bench is deep enough and drama free to win while you recover...
