I can't believe anybody argued T-Mac was the best player on this team..

You mean those 10 games? I guess those 11 games before didn't matter. T-Mac stopped being better than Yao when he got hurt last season.

He showed up in the playoffs, but the Rockets still lost like I thought they would.

Yao Ming is much much much more efficient and consistente than T-Mac

a motivated and healthy Tracy McGrady is like a Dwight Howard with skills or a Rasheed Wallace with heart and motivation.

Sorry, It's pretty much an oxymoron. Even when he is healthy he is not better than Yao Ming.

Of course he's not lets look at the situation.

Yao is healthy and in shape enough to still dominate his position which is the weakest in the NBA. So Yao should be doing the things he's doing.

T-mac knee is weak and he's out of shape, he also plays a position with a lot more talent then the Center position.

So of course Yao should be having a better season than T-mac.

THE ONLY time it matters is in the post season and the only player to consistently step up is TMac, so yes Tmac is better than all of them

I don't even know why you are comparing the two in terms of who is better. They both play different positions. Thats like starting a thread asking who is better between Kobe and Dwight Howard.

I guess Robert Horry would be the best player on this team if he signed here.

That's a good point, but some T-Mac bandwagoners frustrate me now-a-days.

They act like T-Mac is still in his prime, when he is probably in his decline. Tracy McGrady was a player that had a lot of potential even coming into Houston. It all washed away during the 05-06 season.

Who cares what you think now, it's obvious. What do you think will happen in the playoffs? No one knows...but meh.

the bolded statement should tell you're not being objective. tracy has had more dominant games this year than ron has on 2-3 fingers.

yao has been the best player from the last month on. he wasn't be the best player to start the first 15 games. he has been the best player since december started (b/c yao is finally healthy and getting into a rhyhtm).

tracy is still recovering. but it doesn't matter if yao or tracy is the best player. why do you even care? i'd be glad if yao is the best player in the world, let alone the best player on the rockets. i've been wanting that for years.

PS - you do know the tracy the past few games still draws double teams right?

I don't even get how you're frustrated about that. I don't really see T-mac bandwagoners claiming he's still in his prime. The last few pages with T-mac threads are complaining about him.

To be real the T-mac critics complain about him like he is in his prime right now. It's a two way street.

T-mac needs to play better we all know that but comparing him to Yao at this point doesn't make sense. Everyone knows right now Yao is playing better than T-mac.

A better thread would of been you ranking who is more important out of the 3 of them. Which I think they all need each other to get deep in the playoffs.

and plus, are you trying to make this an ESPN board? stop trying to threads about who's better than the other.

nobody cares if the rockets play their best, whether that means yao is the best or aaron brooks going off for 30.

right now, tracy is struggling and you have comparing threads like this. and also, you have a new thread every hour it seems like. calm down.

Because filling up the stat sheet defines being the better player? How about those times Artest guarded the best perimeter player? Or those times Artest hustled for the loose ball and those times Ron Artest hit the 3 ball?

I could careless about dominating stat games, Give me the intangibles and the decent games.

Mac is the most talented player on our team he just never utilizes his full potential. You can tell Mac and VC are cousins and I'm sure they will go down in NBA history as the 2 players who took the least advantage of their God given gifts.

yes we've had a phlethora of those players the past 3 years and that won us games  .

artest has been good, but he has just been wildly inconsistent as tracy.

there was a time when the espn boards and even the garm were cluttered with "is tmac a point-forward?" threads

there is a pretty funny thread about this in the feedback forum several months back.

yes steve did step up ONE series statistically. unfortunately, he has not gone to the playoffs ever since (or anytime before that).

if steve did that every year, i would say he steps up in the playoffs too b/c he did put up great #s (19.6ppg, 8.4rpg, 7.6apg). he put up a tracy mcgrady statline (see that), but with 7-8 less points.
