This team is too deep to let injuries let their play suffer this extensively. Two days off and they put up 79 points? The hornets actually looked bad and that should reflect how worse we were. I honestly have to blame the coaching staff for this defeat. How long will it take for the staff to leave luther on the bench and play wafer. What coach will put their starters back in the game in crunch time after the bench had outscored theirs 31-11. Landry and aaron shouldve finished this game, no ifs ands or buts about it. Thats why you have a bench, finish the game with players that have played well. If you don't have it going as a player, give it to someone who does, ie yao. These wild shots by rafer and tmac killed any momentum that we couldve got if we had taken the lead. At the end of quarters, the 2 for 1s that tmac and rafer apparently love to do have worked only 1% of the time. Take the best available shot and then get back on D to stop them. Something has got to change if this team wants homecourt in the playoffs, whether adelman has to suck it up and finish with brooks for a few games or rick needs to get in tmacs face because obviously nothing else has worked this season. Tmacs never looked this bad even when he has been coasting.
This team is not as deep as people think. And even with depth this team has had way too many injuries for depth to overcome it.
how the f#$k is it not about injuries? that's the stupidest thing i've ever heard. if t-mac, artest, and battier are healthy, then we win this game going away. period.
Theres a point where you play with what you have This team shouldve beaten the hornets had aaron and carl played more minutes, rafer and tmacs shot selection wasn't so poor The injuries have been a norm with this team, thats why they got really deep.
The fact that we have a lot of fans screaming for Deke to rescue us shows we are not that deep. We have too many injuries to be deep.
we are much deeper than last year. aaron carl and luis are a year older and the additions of barry and artest pushed luther back to the pack. luther was the first perimeter guy off the bench last year.
I agree about that, but there comes a point where too many injuries overtake that depth. We may get to the playoffs but not make any noise unless we are healthy.
absolutely, but we arent in the playoffs yet, our depth should carry us in the regular season....point being we shouldve used our bench to finish the game.
How many open shots did we miss tonight? That is really getting frustrating. I've supported Tracy for a long time, but damn. 11 points? Four versus Cleveland? How? Not even Shane is hitting. Luis missed how many lay-ups tonight? I sure am glad I paid for League Pass. Nothing like watching the hometown team stink it up.
Its not about injuries, but when Scola goes 3-9, Tmac goes 1fer, Alston 1fer, Battier 2-6... you can't expect this team to win. It was a bad game but not characteristic of a major flaw in the team. We just need to play better next time.
so everybody was healthy and they still lost seems to me its not about the injuries anymore.... The core of this team has never had the fire that a contending team should have. artest is not part of this core. neither is scola or landry it would shock me if we got out of the first round this year. i could see us once again lose in game 7. we are good enough to compete but not good enough to win. por spurs ind mem clips was its not even halfway through the season and you can bet these losses will come back to haunt us.
'um we still aren't 100%, whomever told you we are needs a drug test fast. Plus, even if we supposedly were, how many games do we give Rick to get this team gelling, 2, 3, 4? We aren't doing so poorly that we're out of it, we fell fast we can climb back up as fast. But yes, lets dog tracy, or Yao, or anyone else we can and say that we should be playing at a level we aren't so evidently ready to. For the varied personnel we've had, we shouldn't even be where we are. The rockets are playing out of their minds, and it only gets better from here.
It's all about the injuries. McGrady, Artest, Alston, Battier and Barry. That's three starters and two main bench players who is battling or coming back from injuries. Injuries have really affected the team's chemistry and Adelman's coaching. I can't see how you can say otherwise.
because there should be no excuses anymore until everyone on this team realizes it we will never reach our potential chemistry is one thing, but effort and focus should have no excuses
Injuries are an excuse, the true REASON though is a lack of effort or competitive fire from our big 3. Tmac stunk last night and continues to play lackidasical basketball. Yao was horrible last night and for some reason has begun pacing himself. Ron was horrible in the 2nd quarter, which gave Washington hope....just miserable. None of the big 3, the alleged leaders came to play, and Washington took advantage. A true coaching staff would call them to the carpet....ALL of them.....and bench their ass the next time they loaf it.... Play guys that care.....no matter what the result. DD
