What are you talking about. Luther is just as inconsistent as mike james..one day its a 20 point game, the other is a goose egg game.
It's sad to see SF leaving again.. He is so explosive in the early Yao's year. And he has been a good friend to Yao, and maybe Yao pass easily his rookie and stay with Houston part was the relation with SF. Don't know why SF loss his explosiveness.. If he just can play 90% of his old time, Rockets will be very dangerous now. He has couple of chance, especially while rafer was injured. But here it is, he has to move... Good Luck Stevie... who know you might come back again next season.
Objectively speaking! If the rockets for future is that this deal is entirely correct! Don't deal, mutombo will go to Boston. But this respect from feeling! The rockets really cannot trade off Francis! I think he is a similar to the spirit of things! But he may still not mutombo spirit ability! But I believe he would go well! Of course, the rockets will be much better!
I think Stevie would have made a great towel boy. He cared about the team and was very familiar with the bench area (who sits where, who needs 1 towel versus 2). Thanks a lot, Daryl Morey, you traded away potentially the best towel boy in the league and ruined by Xmas!
id take an inconsistent Mike James over luther head any day....matter of fact, check the resume....Head can only do two things that Mike James can do: shoot and not play defense.....At least james can create his own shot (today's game)
Wow. Has anyone checked out http://www.nba.com/grizzlies/ ? They're headline is "Grizzlies re-acquire 2nd round draft pick" - Francis is barely an afterthought to them.
It's obvious that nobody in the NBA really wants Francis when the Grizzlies home page headlines "Grizzlies reacquire 2009 2nd round pick" not "Grizzlies reacquire FRANCIS" albeit there is a photo of Francis... good luck to him.
He'll feel sad definitely. They used to be and still are knit in friendship, Yao treats SF3 a very close friend..Of course he'll give his best wishes to the unlucky guy. So will i.
This feels like the Rudy Gay-Shane Battier trade where we seemingly gave up a lot to get what we wanted. It seems unnatural to view dumping a contract as acquiring anything. I miss that early 2009 second round pick already...
About that. MJ got traded for Bobby Jax, who then got shipped for Artest Would you prefer MJ to Artest?
I love Francis. But to be frank, I don't think Francis has any value on the court except that he has a pretty solid fan base. It seems that he has a really long short in beating Rafer, Brooks, Berry to get any minutes on the court. And the Rockets desperately need to get under LT and some cap space to get a player, hopefully Deke, that can back up Yao. And Deke said a few days earlier that he started to look elsewhere such as Celtics and Spurs. When one goes desperate, he loses all the bargaining chips. So I'm not surprised by the trade.
Me, too. But I have a feeling that Les will buy a second rounder if there is someone that the team truly values. Just like he did with the Eliyahu and Landry picks. Also remember that (a) this is supposed to be one of the weakest drafts ever and (b) the Rockets have a bunch of young players on the roster and in the wings. Aaron Brooks (23) Von Wafer (23) Lior Eliyahu (23) Maarty Leunen (23) Brad Newley (23) Carl Landry (25) Joey Dorsey (25) Chuck Hayes (25) I think the Rockets will try to hold on to Wafer for next year, and don't be surprised if Maarty Leunen or Brad Newley makes the team in 2009. Each of them is as good as having a second rounder in this year's draft. Lior is apparently getting significantly better over in Israel and may be ready to come over in 2010. Also, Dorsey will hopefully learn a lot this year and be ready to contribute as a Ben Wallace-type backup center in 2009. All in all, I don't think the Rockets are in desperate need of adding another second round talent from a weak draft, especially when there are so many young players in the Rockets organization already.
