    So far, I've gotten hosed...

    - pair of 1/4 height socks...never worn this kind in my life
    - pair of pajama pants that look like ripped stone washed jeans
    - Rechargeable batter charger...no rechargeable batteries
    - Water Pik

Needless to say, this Hanukkah/Christmas is not about the gifts.

    for the big gifts...

    I got a GPS
My wife got a Dooney and Bourke purse and some small appliances (hey she asked...)
My older son got a iMultimix and a Mic and a stand and pedal
My middle son got a Ludwig drum set (that might be a big mistake. my older has a bass but at least that has a volume control with a headphone as a option. I did get some sound-offs too - we'll see). So far I'm pretty impressed with some of his songs for a beginner.
My youngest daughter got some uggs, a mtn hardwear jacket and a puppy (malitpoo - may be another mistake).

    I got.....

Guitar Hero World Tour on 360
    leather jacket
    laptop backpack
    MP3 player
    $60 cash
$50 gift card for Gamestop (my cousin couldnt find MK vs. DC)

btw, out of curiosity, when you start seeing that you don't gifts anymore from your extended family? My immediate family is pretty given that I get gifts, but my 3 uncles/aunts here still give me gifts and I'm 26 with an "ok" job. I really don't expect anything from them anymore, so anything from them is a bonus.

Bose surround sound for the bedroom from the w**** who's in Puerto Rico. She only buys the best presents ever. She also bought me an early X-mas present that was a Paul Reed Smith Semi Hollow guitar for my birthday, which was also on Christmas. I have to out do her then pay for it all year. This game is a wash.

$200. gift card to Guitar Center where I will be purchasing a Rickenbocker or a Gretch that I will never learn how to play but they look cool and John Lennon and Johny Marr had them. I mean, they don't cost that much, I will have to save some money, but it's a start.

    Velvet Guitar Stand.

    New John Lennon Biograhpy.

Signed picture of Yogi Berra with Babe Ruth on his retirement day.

The Rat Pack DVD set. WAR!

Sony Blue Ray for the bedroom.

    The Man Groomer! :D

    1TB external HD.

Complete Sopranos DVD set. I could have downloaded this but I'm very happy with it.

A pair of swutt Clark Boots for my jeans.

$300.00 gift card from my granny to CC. Now I can buy my wall mounting unit for my bedroom TV.

    Homemade chex mix stuff.

About $500 in cash to help pay off the Christmas I bought for others. Wash.

    Two days in bed.

I got some books, gift certificates, and cash.

But the best gift was having the Lakers stop the Celtics at 19 games. 22 is still the second longest wining streak. One of the few times I've ever cheered for Kobe.

Not into bringing up old threads, but...

Man, I just got back from my Christmas gift last night, Jamaica!!!!

8 of us rented a villa atop a mountain of a hill (you'd say that too if you had to walk it every day) at Runaway Bay (opposite side of the island of Kingston).

It's probably the first time I spent Christmas in shorts and flipflops since my own island days. What's cool was saying Merry Christmas while treading water as a wave crashes on you. Island sweeeeeeeeet!

My own island complextion and long ponytail just invited every drug dealer on Jamaica to me. Hell, I couldn't even lie to them.

Me: "No mon, I don't smoke"

Rasta Mon: "Yes mon, you do, mon you are lying"

Me: "Oh good grief, give me a dime bag then"

    Rasta Mon: "Blow? Hash? Shrooms?"

    Me: "sigh...."

Seriously, I don't know what is so popular about Amsterdam because you can get ANYTHING at ANYTIME in Jamaica.

The water was just great...food was fabulous...everything American was terribly expensive...and everybody is selling you something someone in their family personally made (I think the whole island population is related to each other somehow ;) )

But I had lots of peace, lots of quiet time to stare off into the horizon..."eh? is that Cuba?"

    Wife: "Don't you miss Clutch?"

Me: "eh? I think thats Cuba! Lets go for a swim!!!"

One other thought. They say the language is English, but dang, you try and listen to a conversation and then tell me what they said. I'll bet you can't. (oh wait, maybe I wasn't high enough :D )
