Sure it makes feel us a bit better, but it doesn't solve our problem. We should admit that Al Jefferson is a genuine talent, after all Tim Duncan is a better overall player than Yao. I'm not trying to diss Yao,but that's an honest fact.

Things I notice from the boxscore--

Sebastian Telfair logs thirty minutes and fouls out--the Wolves might have the league's worst pointguard rotation. That could not have been pretty to watch.

The Timberwolves outrebounded the Spurs, even when starting midgets at the forward slots.

Kevin Love scores a point, and his statline looks like binary code. Meanwhile I don't think OJ Mayo has scored in single-digits once this year. Who won this trade again (esp. if Mike Miller stays injured)?

Foye is the most frustrating player in the NBA. He's Chauncey Billups one minute and horrible the next.

The conclusion: Jefferson is a superstar with an A+ attitude and character, but he needs more help.

    Solid comments.

Foye makes me want to scream. When Parker scored 55 against them in 2OTs earlier this season, it was Foye's idiocy in the final minutes that cost Minny the game. It shouldn't have gone to OT. Other times he's looked decent, even good. Foye won't ever be a reliable starting PG.

Jefferson is one unique offensive talent and, as you said, he's a solid guy with a great attitude. How many players with his talent will say aloud he doesn't deserve a max contract because he hasn't "earned it yet". Jefferson is the kind of player that everyone can cheer for. But his career will be in vain until Kevin McHale is canned.

Jefferson is fun to watch. I'd say he's the best big man in the game when it comes to post moves.

I'm glad people are starting to realize how good of a player and professional athlete Al Jefferson is. Not only is he an A+ talent but his attitude is extremely rare too. He definitely appears willing to work as hard as it takes. The next step for him is proving he has leadership potential and the all the intangibles a star player has.

One thing I will say is don't be so quick to judge Kevin Love. If you plan on judging him fairly you need to place the O.J. Mayo element aside. It's a lot like the Rudy Gay fiasco. We didn't want Gay, they didn't want Mayo. They wanted Love and for good reason. He's an old-school type of baller that simply knows how to play. He's not razzle & dazzle, he won't go for 40 in a game. What he can do is drop an anchor in the paint and have his way once he adjusts to the speed of the NBA and conditions himself properly. That's more than a lot can say. Plus, in all fairness his numbers aren't all that bad for a rookie coming off the bench that just turned 20-years-old. Stay tuned.....

I agree, but watching Love a few times he looks downright passive/lost in the NBA, and unwilling to expand his comfort zone (for instance shoot outside of two feet, even though he has the range). He is so tentative--hence the sweet block by Shane Battier the other game. He needs a killer instinct, which may be something that isn't coachable; unless he is more aggressive offensively teams are going to continue swarming Al Jefferson.

I hope he gets it together, though, 'cause he seems like a great guy.

Randy Foye went from a 20-ish pick project to a top-10 lottery pick, not because of his own play, but because he kinda reminded people of Wade and Wade won a championship.

I'm I reading the stats right, Foye had 16 rebounds? I can't remember when was the last time a PG had that many.

He's turning out better than I had expected as my thoughts were he'd be a 6-8pt and 2-3ast hybrid guard off the bench coming out of college. I was surprise he was picked so high. For a 7th pick he's turning out decent but he'll never live out that he was traded for Roy. And for most of us Rocket fans he'll always be remembered as the player that cost us from getting Roy, damn Portland!

For sure. I watched a Villanova vs UConn game years back with Allan Ray, Kyle Lowry and Foye with the 3 guard attack for Nova. I'm not close to a good scou. but it was apparent to me Kyle Lowry had something to lend an NBA team even though he is short. With Emeka Okafor, Rudy Gay, Josh Boone & Hilton Armstrong on UConn, Foye was like the 7th best guy in the GAME, let alone a #7 overall PICK.

But I do see he has some NBA skills. He could be a rich man's Delonte West type on a good team if he develops some consistency but he's gotta do that soon.

Agreed totally. He's still adjusting to the speed of the NBA yet he's already established his presence defensively and on the glass. His offense just isn't there yet. You are absolutely right about him being too tentative. Offensively, he seems to see everything but appears hesitant -- probably out of fear of being selfish. He'll improve and hopefully amount to a solid pick. He does seem like a great guy -- very likable and coachable.

People just really need to forget about the O.J. Mayo element for the same reason any true Rockets fan knows the whole Rudy Gay fiasco was overblown. Who cares if you technically draft the guy -- you didn't want him and you drafting him for somebody else. Get over it.

    Al Jefferson is pretty underrated.

Though he couldn't guard Yao ;) , and a lot of his hack and wack on Yao was ignored by the Refs.

Still, can't blame him though, he is a very talented player, but it's amazing how much talent Celtics drop to acquire KG, and the traded included Al Jefferson, 3-4 other youngs playesr and draft picks. KG is NOT worth that much.

Just because Yao is tall and slow and Howard dunks a lot doesn't mean they play like real big men.
