I agree with you he is a stiff. Landry is way better than him as you have pointed out.
You're also right about his injury history. Mihm played well for the Lakers before he got injured, but if he were healthy I wouldn't be surprised to seeing him coming off the bench to spell Bynum.

v3.0 is also correct.Portland and the Lakers will have no interest in trading with the Rockets unless it helps them greatly.

Ok so a backup center would definetely help. Now lets see who is expendable. Head, Dorsey, Wafer, Francis. Those four come to mind immediately. We could also get rid of Hayes(can't shoot for squat) of course for an upgrade to the c position. I think our trading partner would have to be oklahoma. They have Collison Wilcox and Smith that I wouldnt mind at all. They just signed Nenad Krstic to a multi year deal.. They also have Robert Swift who is a center but I would prefer not to have another guy on this team with the last name of Swift. Either way their team sucks. They would be open to trade especially for expiring contracts. Personally i would take Wilcox or Collison any day. I have seen them both as solid pf/c backups(with some decent height) for a while now.

I never said the guy had to be a all star player. Just a guy with some size that can block some shots, rebound and play in a offense. How did the rox manage to win so much with yao being down? Its because deke gave them 5pts 6rebs and 2blks a game. Is that asking too much to have a guy that can do close to that in the same time that's close to 7 ft? Anderson right now is 5.5pts 5.5rebs and 2.5 blks in 16 mins. Don't tell me there weren't guys that could produce that were availiable this summer. If u lined up the top 5 centers in the nba, yao probably has the worse backup and its not even close.

Also look at Collison and Wilcox's rebounds per minute for the past few years. Plus they are tall hustle players. And their salaries are not out of our league. Id toss chuck for one of them any day.

I agree - thanks Morey and your "Moneyball" approach! Why not get get great players that have crap contracts compared to production? Who wants Luis Scola? That dude sucks! He makes jack in salary and is a euro player to boot. Useless. Brooks also sucks - he's too short, can't play defense or score around the basket. And shooting the three ball!? Forget it - horrible. Too bad he works for cheap. And don't get me started about Landry - the dude can barely dunk anymore. His jumper is suspect as well. Might as well trade him for a parking pass for a Texans game. Don't get me started about Artest - talk about a head case. He puts on a uni and fights everyone. Why can't he hit a clutch shot or at least be man enough to play tough defense. Useless. Freakin' Morey, he can't get anything right. Can't get talent without a huge contract, or talent period. Let's trade GM's. Maybe we can get the Suns' GM. He's worth it for sure.

Damned stream of w/e - sorry for lack of paragraphs. Sometimes ya gotta get stupid woth stupid.

I'm just asking you, after the Rox lost, what were the top 3 priorities for this team. Mine were legit 3rd scorer, a backup big for yao, and more atheleticism on the team.

I agree most teams if you need something so obvious you have to give up something so obvious that is not too ridiculous in terms of players career and such. I like Camby and we could probably get him for Shane and filler being the best offer Rockets could do, then we would probably loose Artest after seasons end. I feel another move probably coming before the deadline i think we are waiting on Deke to give him a better look in his decision before we make a final observation as to where we stand as a unit.

I feel Yao in the prime of his career will need a suitable back up and Camby feels that role to a T.

I don't understand the reluctance to get a backup C.

I don't understand the commitment of a roster spot to Steve Francis.

    Go Rockets

Fans already questioning the Francis/McGrady trade. Wow....

And no sane GM is going to want Francis and Head only. You want to talk trade start with Scola/Landry/Brooks/Battier etc.

Rockets priority is to get under LT.

Untradeable bad contract unless he shows something on the court.

Would anyone be willing to do this deal? Battier and head for Jamison? Salaries match! Gives us some more versatility and good 3 pt shoooting

I agree 100% ...if there was a decent backup center we could pick up we wouldve have done it by now. However, right now we need someone who can go in and be a big presence under the goal when Yao takes a seat. Ill take Big Bird at this point.

Actually, we could bring back Jake Tsakalidis or another big stiff just to hold the fort for basically nothing.

I would love Mihm...and would be in favor of giving up Landry or Hayes....to get him.

    One bench player for another.

What you do as a gm is check depth charts. Look and see who has a overload of players at 4/5 spot. Seattle, LaC, Portland, Lakers, Milwaukee are to name a few.

The thunder just signed kristic and since collison replaced petro in the starting lineup, he's stuck on the bench.

Kaman coming back, zach, camby, and davis on the clipps. Camby might be availiable.

The bucks have elson and allen. The Lakers have mihm and mbenga. There are guys availible, they just needs to do it. Petro is intriguing because of his age, size and he's fallen off in terms of scoring and fg%. His contract is chuck hayes/luther head. Either makes sense.

    Leeb,

Francis being traded, probably means Mutombo comes back.

Maybe, maybe not. I like petro because he's actually quick enough to play the 4 against the aldridge/garnett types.
