If you had the choice, would you take LeBron James or Yao Ming? under the following assumptions: <ol><li>The Rockets roster is as it is now and injury free <li>We have the number 1 pick in the draft only <li>James is eligible to be drafted and play next season, same with Mnig</ol> Who would you choose?
Supposedly, James' game has fewer question marks. I don't see why, he's a high school kid. Ming definitely could be feast or famine. What if he is a Bradley clone? Would he be worth a #1. If I had to pick, I guess I would go with James.

ABSOLUTE NO CHANCE OF JAMES GOING TO COLLEGE. dude could have come out as a highschool junior, but the nba is having no part of that.
Are any of the following a factor? 1) LeBron James is 16 years old. 2) Akron St. Vincent-St Mary is an Ohio 3A school (1A is the largest school). I have not seen their schedule, but since they are made years in advance StV-StM has to be playing some poorer quality teams (stat padder) 3A teams. 3) James' postion is point guard. 4) Can we assume Ohio 3A and some all star games is superior NBA preparation to International games? Ming also has his share of kudos from NBA players, coaches, and scouts. If I were faced with 2 immediate impact players - one a PG and one a C - I'd take the Center. Especially if I were CD & RT. I've seen them both play, James live and Ming online, and I would want the Rockets to pick Ming. Centers nowadays are hard to come by, and we already have an all-star PG, a SG that shoots ALOT. DEfinitely Ming.
Without hesitation, Ming. I just think that Ming has more potential to become a dominating low post player than James plus the fact that James is a high school kid and Ming is not (regardless of the competition he has been playing against).
The Yao-maker over LeBringit no bout a doubt it Well, I've seen the Yao-maker in action ... never seen LeBro. So, can't really judge half the question. But there is no reason in my mind how you can look at Yao and not think he is as good a scorer a David Robinson was at Navy. Shanghai is playing Navy's offense. I saw Yao move comfortably and smoothly with 2 guys draped on him. I saw him hit 21 for 21, from both sides, bankshots, Js out to 17 feet, left/right handed, dropsteps for outta-my-way dunks, everything Robinson did at Navy. The Bradley comparisons need to cease. I'm withholding the Walton/Sabonis comparisons because they are not playing that offense, but David Robinson at Navy is a pretty safe bet, imo.
I would want Ming. The maturity and teamwork factors cannot be understated. However, I do think most GM's would do a "James for Ming" straight up deal, but not necessarily vice versa. (ie: "Heck yes!" If you offer JforM, but a "maybe-to-no" if you offer MforJ)
Ming. 6'7" slashers aren't always franchise players. A very few are, but usually they're complimentary players. Just look at Vince. It's looking more and more like he's not necessarily a franchise player. 7'5" with athleticism and lower body strength sounds to me like someone to build a team around. No, I'm not saying that Rik Smith was a franchise player ...
How bout this...we trade Collier, Langhi, Rice, and Moochie to James' high school in exchange for the rights to Lebron? Sounds good to me.
