So I got a call today from a guy name Richard Pino saying that my dad is being sued by Discover card for $5000 that he owe them a long time ago. This Pino guy make it sound really convincing he even gave me a case number. I was half asleep when I got this call so I wasn't sure what's going on and I had a feeling that this could be a scam so I told the guy that my dad doesn't speak any English and that he's not home. Richard Pino then tell me to call my dad and told him what happen and that if my dad doesn't want to go to court he can just pay them in full in one payment and they'll let it go. I hung up and call my dad and guess what my dad told me...he NEVER used a Discover card in his life! I call the guy back and told him that my dad have never used a Discover card before and he start asking me if my dad's name is so and so (the first time he call me he gave the correct name) that's no where close to my dad's name and he ask me if my dad's last four digit social is xxxx which is also no where close to being his numbers. Pino then suddenly come the realization that he got the "wrong numbers" and hung up. After that I went and do a quick search for his number on google, what I should have done the first time this b*stard called, and found out that this is a scam and this b*stard have called and told at least 4 other people the same thing.
Agreed. I had one who had harassed me about 8 days after Ike, I was going on 8 days without power and in no mood for bull****. He calls me and tells me one of my friends from high school is in trouble with a loan company, and I'm listed as his cosigner and I need to pay him a couple thousand or they will come after me in court. I cussed him out for 5 minutes straight, I pulled out all my best material. I'm pretty sure the flowers around me all wilted. He tried to come back at me a couple times when I stopped to catch my breathe but I gave him a tongue lashing I hope he never forgets. I felt a lot better after that.
Here's the numbers. The 888 is the one he told me to call back and the 512 is the number he called me from. 1-888-217-2701 or 521-501-2240
Too bad there isn't a way to trick them into meeting them with the supposed payment in a dark alley, so I can accidentally run them over.
