Last year there were times that Landry's play reminded me a lot of Karl Malone. I was even getting the feeling that Landry would one day become the go-to guy calibur player.

This year Landry looks more like a key rotation player. He is good, don't get me wrong. But he doesn't look to have the potential the pre injury Landry had last season.

It could be that NBA team found a way to guard him efficiently. NBA coaches are a smart bunch.

    My take.

I think he a better defender this year actually. Last year he used to pick up a lotta fouls real quick.

Well i dont know if he a better defender but he's more smarter defensively this year.

I don't think it is fair to say that Landry has somehow regressed, or is not as explosive as he was pre-injury. He has had his bust out games just like last year. The Rockets just have more horses to run out there and Luis Scola is playing better.

I agree with most of your post except that Landry hasn't really gotten the ball even half as much as he did last season in my opinion. I hope the Rox find more ways to get him the ball, especially when other teams put some scrub on him.

If Landry was playing for Sloan he'd be doing better than Paul Millsapp, maybe almost as well as Boozer. He's still a second-year though, his time will come.

Wow, comparing him to Boozer is just a tad overboard. But at least we're letting the Charles Barkley comparisons go.

Carl is afraid to monster dunk ever since that tech a few games back. Now he just throws it down politely

In addition to that jumper Landry also looks a lot better going iso and then driving past his defender to the basket. His D is going to get a lot better as he gets more experience in the league.

The Rockets deserve an A for last year's draft given that they got both Landry and Brooks.

I dont care as long as he is efficent with it....lol, some of you people are complaining because he is not dunking every play. His jumper is looking as good as anybodys on the rockets team.

Landry is not as explosive as before but startling consistent, the guy is good for 10 points on .500 shooting or better per game...he's expanded his repertoire to include jump shots and drives..imagine if he didn't have the knee injury, he would probably be a mini shawn kemp.

In the summer leagues he showed a lot more understanding about spacing, moving without the ball and setting picks and popping to the open spot, he also rebounded fairly well.

He is a much better NBA prospect than Novak was..IMO.

coming down after a dunk can be jarring on the knees. maybe he was advised to limit that?

Wow u gotta be kidding me no way in heck landry is as good as Paul Milsap right now... Milsap is a double double Beast playing wit consistently, I hope one day landry put up the same level as he is.

The Warriors are not going to trade a lottery pick for Chuck Hayes. Lets be real here.

I know he had a bad game tonight, but other then the block on Deron Williams, has Landry gotten many blocks? I watch the games but if he did they don’t come to mind. I’ve noticed he goes for a lot of charge fouls which to me can go either way depending on the ref. He really needs to go for the blocks more often.
