We would most likely have to deal (Battier, Head, Francis) in a package. But I still dont think that will work unless we involve Battier and Alston. Pistons would have to offer a 1st in order for us to do this.

Camby is the one of the most overrated players ever. I definitely do not want to give up any of our core players for him. If you want somebody to shut down another PF or C one on one then Camby should be one of the last players the rockets should go after.

It was more of an open-ended question about our frontcourt needs. I figured it was more than just a random trade idea.

Pretty much, the nuggets got much tougher after he left, they are not that much better defensively. Even if they did it's because Iverson left.

Camby is nothing but a shot blocker and a jump shooter. He cannot do anything else out of those 2. He can't play man to man D to save his life.

We dont need anyone else. That team is good enough to win a championship. All we need is Mutumbo.

You completely missed REBOUNDING. He's also a better passer than any of our current bigs. On top of that, he's extremely athletic for his position even at his age.

He's not a better passer than Yao Ming. Granted I will give you Scola, Landry and Hayes.

But he can rebound sure.... But The Rockets are already an elite team in rebounding

6th in the league at rebounding with 43.5 RPG

The Rockets don't need rebounding anymore.

Ummm...I think some of you are missing the point that Camby would be our BACKUP center, and not get alot of minutes. You guys act like Adelman will put him on the floor in the 4th instead of Yao.

This is how I view Camby
    Strengths:
-Great Rebounder (We need this especially when Yao is on the bench)
-Weak Side D (Imagine Yao and Camby in the game together, Yao just scaring people and Cambys weak side defense
-Great passer (We would have great passers at the 4 and 5 for there positions)

    Weaknesses:
-1 on 1 D (Very overrated at this aspect)
-Scoring liability (He will shoot 50 percent, but dont rely on him to score mid range shots, he will be as good as Scola OR even worse on offfense)
-Contract (I believe its 8-10 million a year for 3 or 4 years)

I strongly disagree with this. I constantly hear Bill Worrell talking about how good of a passer Yao is during games.

I actually think Yao is one of the worst passing big men in the game, regardless of statistics. Some of his passes are so poor, it really is embarrassing.

Good passing bigs to me are guys like Brad Miller, Pau Gasol, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett.

Camby is actually a solid passer. There were several times where he put up around 10 assists playing for Denver. His passing really is underrated and the statement you just made is evidence of that.

Frankly I don't want to trade any of our core pieces that would really shake up the team. We've got a real flow going lately. I say find a way to drop SF3 and Head and sign Mutombo to spell Yao for 10-15 minutes a game when it's a matchup Chuck can't handle.

If we could magically get Camby without losing any of our major rotation players then sure, make it happen. But I doubt we could make it work.

And don't mention Battier's name. It's no coincidence that his playing with the Big 3 has resulted in a 4-0 record.

Horrible opinion, Yao is one of the best passers in the game. Some of the bad passes are mainly because of mis-communication or because the ball is stripped.

He doesn't make bad passes often

Marcus Camby, seriously guys? I would prefer a head for johan petro or any center from the okc thunders, they obviously have a glut at the guard position and they also have too many centers so its a win win situation since they dont play him at all

BrooksBall, I would actually love Brad Miller on this team but only as a backup to Yao. He can also play the 4 as well and space for him as well. Whats his salary like though?

I would go for two players that would fit this category:

    Joe Smith
    - Veteran presence
    - Length
    - good defense
    - can hit the outside shot

    Sean Williams
    - Extremely athletic/mobile
Potential for a great weak side defender.
    - has to develop offense
This is not a necessity though since he can finish with dunks and needs to focus on defense.

I still think we need Deke aside from these two. It gives us another intimidating defensive presence down low when he's in the game plus he's a great teammate and veteran presence in the locker room.

    2 years left on Miller's contract ($11.4 mil, $12.3)

We didn't get owned by Jefferson, he had to put up 30+ shots to get his 33 points or whatever it was. Ideally we need another backup center, and Deke would be the perfect fit, but unfortunately it seems that Les doesn't want to pay the extra dollars.

And Marcus Camby is way too overrated, I can't believe some people on this board thinks he's a defensive stopper. He's not, period. Guarding Al Jefferson, Dwight Howard, etc. won't be prettty for Camby.
