Is this your way of predicting that if these teams play again, the Steelers will make sure they blow out the knee of an important Titan? Isn't that the way they beat the Bengals?

    Preach on Steve Francis....

Michael Strahan of the Giants did the same thing to the hanky a few years ago and no one seemed to make a big deal over it. I guess it is ok if you are from a large market team...

Just amazing how much media hype it got yesterday. Watching Tom Jackson and Trent Dilfer last night on the ESPN late afternoon Blitz was embarrasing. Tom Jackson seemed like he was about to cry...

Remind me again how many Super Bowls the Titans and/or Kerry Collins have won. Or better yet, how many of the players on this Titans team have even won a playoff game? Chris Hope is the only one that comes to mind right away.

Yes, I do. Even this year, the ravens tried to use that advantage by playing dirty and getting into the titan's heads. It is still there as long as Ray Lewis is still a raven.

Carson Palmer is/was one of the most overrated players in the league. Basically a poor man's Drew Brees. The Steelers own that team and didn't need an unfortunate but obvious accidental bump to take him out of the game. It's not like Kitna can't drop back, shut his eyes and fire the ball as hard as he can too. Which he did -- and got chewed up, the same way Palmer would have. Judging by the cynical nature of your posts I wouldn't expect you to look past that, though.

Can I bring up Joe Nedney and pretend I have a point too?

Guys this will be a new post season. Hell there is still a chance the Ravens do not even make the playoffs. So it is not guaranteed that they are even in the post season yet.

Once they get their they will have to play on the road against most likely the Dolphins who are very hot themselves.

So to think the Ravens are suddenly going to knock off the Titans is a long ways from happening.

Being a Titans fan. I can think of probably two players that are currently Titans (Bulluck and our punter Hentrich that were on the playoff team from 7 years ago). So this is a new core of Titan players that wants to make its own history.

Not sure the point you are trying to make Anticope. There are alot of players and Coachs that have not won a superbowl. It does not mean they are any less worthy of making a run for the title. Like I mentioned earlier. Every team has its own individual weaknesses. There really is no super dominant team...

So with that said. I like the Titans chances as much as any other team that makes the playoffs.

Now just bring the post season on already....

Not even a dead, stanky possum could make me throw up. I'm predicting the Titans are making it to the Super Bowl. :( :vomitemoticon:

My point was not that the Titans should be clear playoff favorites, because you are right, they do have to prove they can do it in the playoffs. However, I just find it odd that you mention Peyton Manning as the reason the Titans won't win, when he has a long record of being a playoff choker. Even when they won the Super Bowl, he wasn't playing all that well.

So you think Chris Johnson is intimidated by Ray Lewis because of what he saw the Ravens do to the Titans on TV when he was 15 years old? OK

Well, statistically, Drew Brees has only ever had one season (2004) that was as good as the one Carson Palmer was having in 2005 before he was injured.

And as for whether or not Palmer would have been chewed up, I guess it's really easy to forget that he was injured on his first throw of the game, which was a 66 yard completion. Kitna immediately came into the game, having completed only 16 passes that year (long of 16 yards).

Next time they need to take that towel and whipe their ARSE !!

I hate those towels....as an Oiler fan the Steelers were the team that I despised.

Mike Renfro was in bounds dang it !!!!

So, the Titans doing that....when all those towels were in THEIR stadium...good for them.

The Steelers got hit in the mouth, they are pretenders, they are not on the Titans level.....

Wait - so they have this psychological advantage based on 7 years ago where none of the players on either side were on the team. And they tried to use this advantage the last time they met, but still lost. And that's what's going to cause them to beat the Titans in the playoffs?

If the Ravens win, it will probably because they have a great defense and an improved offense since they last played - not because of some mental advantage of beating them 7 years ago.

This is the key point for me. The enemy object was in their home stadium, so they have every right to stomp it. Home turf counts for something.

Palmer has regressed each season since then. Brees has gotten better and has become of the most dangerous QB's in the league. Palmer quit on his team this year. Say whatever you want about his injury. The message was clear regarding his "sore elbow": play through it if you wish. If he needed surgery they could have shut him down months ago and went ahead with the procedure. Instead, they continued to lose (something Palmer knows well) while he sat on the sideline and felt sorry for himself. Overrated.

As for your second paragraph: whatever you say, Joe Nedney.
