next game vs nets we ought to win, the challenge game is Cavs, 2nd back to back game. We need to prove we are good enough to beat any team in the league..

I would not be so sure....Devin Harris gave us problems when he was a shell of what he is now in New Jersey...Vince Carter is rejuvinated to a slight extent.

    Don't overlook these guys!

Our benches are better than Nets', still our defence is better than Nets'. I care about wheater we can concertrate on or not, usually we will relex when our scores ahead.

New Jersey is a team with SIZE! something the Rockets lack.

They better not take this game too lightly.

    Sho Nuff.

rockets = inconsistent all year. but that may be due to any amount of contributing factors. Many of those in which we know of.
I put my trust in this roster as of now, but hope to add another big in the near future. if we win we will win ugly but i'm semi-ok with that for now.

losing leads and 4th quarter breakdowns. we can't let "scrub" teams come back and make it a suspenseful game in the latter minutes of the final quarter. Last night was scary. I'm not mad if we lose. I'm mad because imo we have no tempo/ can't control the game. The game basically come to us. There's has to be a guy (t-mac) or whoever that needs to control the pace of the 4th or something. I don't know? If we had another big taking yao out wouldn't be so bad. Unless Ron could be that 4th quarter dagger in all games. But please bring a big to H-Town asap and happy holidays to everybody being healthy and finally getting down a permanent rotation.

cheers guys. have fun. enjoy life. make your paper.

If we lose to the Nets, the Cavs are gonna go bye bye. So losing to nets could be a good thing.

Artest on Lebron for sure, but I think Battier should be on Delonte West, he's been pretty hot from the 3pt line and always drains open shots.

Agreed. Harris is going to be another good test for Brooks.

Vince Carter should be up for the game against his cousin McGrady. I see Artest giving him fits, though.

And while Yi Jianlian hasn't had a great season, he will still look to do well against his countryman.

But I really don't see anyone on their roster who can't stop Yao. The big fella really ought to dominate this one.

Unlike many posters here, I have seen the a few nets game and let me tell you they have an athletic center by the name of Brooke Lopez and a couple of 6-10 athletic PFs.

    They are a dangerous team!

What lopez impressed me most was his blocks, per game 2 blocks in his rookie season. So Yao need to get prepared.

You're right, I don't follow this team, so I'll take your word for their bigs being any good.

I did take a look at their lineup and they do have a number of bigs with some size.

    C Brook Lopez 7-0
    PF Yi Jianlian 6-11
    FC Ryan Anderson 6-10
    FC Josh Boone 6-10
F Eduardo Najera 6-8 (small but pesky)

I guess they can try to use their bigs to get physical with Yao and try to tire him out. At the very least, they'll have some fouls to work with.

Some of you have to be more optimistic about this game rather than pessimistic.

Last year (in 2 games) Lebron was 6-12 from the 3pt line  He completely smashed us to average 29 points 10 boards, 9 assists, 2 steals and a block over the 2 games.

But we won by 8 in Cleveland and 20 in Houston.

So maybe we just need to shut all the rest of the team down and that'll help us take care of business?

Looking forward to the game still - but let's not rest McGrady against the Nets - get a win however neccessary - and it'll be interesting to see how Brooks goes on Harris - he's done pretty well in the team defense so far as a starter!

This is one game I can't miss. If we win we show we can play with the elite teams, if we lose I don't think it will be that bad as long as the game is not a blow out. But if we get blew out than maybe we are not ready just yet to play great basketball.

I really want us to win this game so we can give the Cavs their first home lost that will be a great feeling. :D We will need a big game from Tracy and Yao they have to play at a high level becasue you know the King is going to bring it.

I think we're forgetting that the Cavs are winning with defense. A lot of teams go into a Cavs matchup worried about how to stop Lebron or all his teammates when really they should be worried about scoring themselves.

The Cavs know how to choke your offense while Lebron heats up and the rest of the team hit some 3's. They've been so good that Lebron's minutes are significantly down from last season, which is scary honestly.

One good thing is that Mo Williams and Delonte West are both fairly short. I'd let Artest play Lebron man-to-man and shut down the rest of the team as much as possible. I think we're ever bit as good as them if healthy. Then let T-Mac go to work on them because Lebron is the only person with the size to smell T-Mac's jumper (when he has his legs under him). I'd imagine we could beat them if the Nets game doesn't suck the wind out of our players.

Brooks has been logging heavy minutes. Hope Rafer will be back by then.

Oh yeah, who isn't excited about the Cavs game right?

Still, we cannot overlook the Nets... we don't have to outright dominate them, but we have to make sure we can have control most of the time in a 7-10pt win. It's a game we should win, improved as the Nets may be from last year, but I know you all know how inconsistantly the Rockets have played against mediocre teams... so.

The Cavs game, however, whether we win or lose the Nets game-if we can win the Cavs game I will feel like our team is truly legit. If coming off a back to back we can beat one of three best teams in the league, I will be pretty confident going forward. Wins in both games would say even more... so, let's hope for some damn blowouts two nights in a row. I wanna see T-Mac drop like 38/10/8 on the Cavs, with Yao adding on like 29/14 on a night where we contain Lebron James. Oh how sweet it could be...
