I cannot eat bananas. I have a serious gag reflex. Ironically, I love banana bread, banana milkshakes, et al... I just can't eat the raw, whole fruit. We think it must date back to an over-zealous baby-feeding episode but nobody knows for sure.

I'll eat anything, but I'm not real crazy about

    beets or cantelope.

I'm a little soulful in my tastes

My favorite meal (my own cooking)

Fried chicken (on the bone; skin on)
    dark brown gravy
rice or mashed potatoes (depending on my mood)
    mustard greens
    black eyed peas

corn and/or sour kraut are two typical substitutions on the veggies.

    Second favorite meal.....sushi

    other favs
    thai
    szechuan
    hunan
    mexican (tex-mex; really)

All of these, I like to cook.

I love to BBQ, but I know some people who do a better job than I do. Although I'd put my fajitas against anyones (including you, Crispee)

No ONE, and I mean NO ONE makes better crawfish than I do. Most of the people in Louisiana would stop making them if they knew how good mine are.

Puke-Cumbers. When my wife and I were dating, we went t o a restaurant and she had ordered a salad. She offered me a crouton so I stuck my fork over and stabbed one. When I put it in my mouth i did not notice the cucumber stuck to the bottom. It hit my tongue and i spit food all over my wife. Since then they have been know to our family as puke-cumbers.

Almost all things from Asia. My taste buds required to taste their seasoning have long been dead causing a weird sensation in parts of my tongue that I'm not used to... so I click my ruby sneakers and get a steak.

    I don't eat Pole's fajitas.

    ;)

Actually, you probably do make better. I'd like to try them. Now, my Fried Chicken can't be beat, though.

    back to rockHEAD's question:

I don't eat dessert. (no really) none...nothing. Give me something salty like nuts or olives and I'll be just fine. This happened over time. I abused my sweet tooth as a child. I have also eaten enough ice cream for 2 lifetimes. I simply wore down my sweet tooth.

Pretty much all fruits and vegetables except for tomatoes, corn on the cob, apples, oranges, fried okra, and a baked potato (on rare occasions).

No spinach, broccoli, or any of those other weird and no tasting crap foods like that.

    I also won't eat:

    Cottage Cheese
    Roast Beef
    Liver
Chicken (for some reason although fried chicken is okay)
    Turkey

I'm pretty much known by people, who have known me for a long time, as an extremely picky eater.

Pickles, cottage cheese, steamed veggies (way too mushy) all suck. Don't like organ meats either.

Potatoes au Gratin -- When I was five, a very ugly scene occurred between me and a bowl of potatoes au gratin. I've never touched them since. In fact, I can't handle any type of melted cheese sauce. Too gooey.

Another one for the list....Lemon Cookies....oh GOD, no!!!

Hey Buck...my money is on Pole. Maybe you guys should start a crawfish thread, since it is crawfish season. I'd love to know everyone's favorite places to go, and maybe read some more Pole tips.

Hey, it's not that bad. Now I just don't "save room for dessert." I crave appetizers now. I'm jealous of Spain's method of eating. I want to eat for 2 hours before the main course.

The only problem with losing your interest for dessert is some people consider it rude to turn down dessert, if they made you dinner. I always have to explain it very apologetically, especially if they spent more time making the dessert than the main course. They usually don't believe me and think I'm watching my weight, which kinda ruins their pleasure in dessert thinking someone else is not partaking is devilish pleasures with them. I don't know what's worse: Turning down dessert, or taking it and nibbling on it and not coming close to finishing. Then you get, "you didn't like my dessert?"

I can eat just about anything, even if it's hit the floor, but cottage cheese is a problem.

    Pole and Buck,

    I'll be happy to judge.
