so did Willie Burton, Ced Ceballos, and Dana Barros (maybe on the Rockets?) who cares? It's not the only piece of evidence we have for Roy's brilliance..
Dawg, it had been a long a$$ day and I was just trying to get to cali. I knew who he was but for some reason the name that came out was Shawn Marion. Amare then looks at me like I was crazy and then proceeds to say " Nah man, Shawn's a red bone". I then slunk back and felt stupid as ever.
You know what I put it down to? The Parents. With most guys you can tell how they are if you talk or watch their parents. I've seen some interviews with his Mom and Dad and you can see where the guy gets it. Also the same for Chris Paul.
Brandon Roy in last 5 games since 12/9 41.8 Minutes 36.4 Points 5 Assist 1.2 Turnovers 5.6 Rebounds 1.4 Blocks .8 Steals 50% FG 45% 3P 88% F
B Roy is almost singlehandedly keeping me relevant in my fantasy league. Dude is a baller straight up. Does whatever his team needs to get the win.
Roy is definitely saving the Blazer's season right now. Take Roy out of their roster and I see them being their division's doormat, which is weird considering all the young, dominating talent they are supposed to have. Anybody have any idea what's wrong with that team this season? Sans Roy, I think they actually regressed from their performance last season.
What's wrong with them? CONSISTENCY. Aside from Roy the only other consistent performer is LaMarcus Aldridge and even he has a handful of games where he looks young/lost/scrubbish. I know this goes against the whole being gung ho about being young, youthful, team of the future etc but the Blazers desperately need to add a couple seasoned veteran winners into the mix. Their 2 most experienced guys consist of Raef Lafrentz 10 years and Joel Pryzbilla 8 years. The first doesn't even play, is washed up and collecting fat checks and could care less. As for Pryzbilla I like him a lot but he's also a virgin to being around a consistent winning squad. Blazers need to trade Outlaw, Frye, Rodriguez and get some solid proven winners to help and support B. Roy. He's not going to be able to carry this squad like he's doing right now all season long. If he does... crown him as MVP.
They need Shane Battier. If we could only convince them to give up Roy for him. Battier + one loss = Brandon Roy I hate JVG
That Denver win sucked, but you have to put more blame on the Denver's side than ours. JVG did what he's supposed to do. Coaching to win. It's not like he was putting all-star talent on the floor in that game. George Karl, on the other hand, purposely tanked for playoff positioning reasons. He kept Carmelo Anthony off the floor in the 4th quarter. I'll blame that before I blame JVG.
I have to blame Jeff more. It would be excusable if he was playing all young players down the stretch while trying to win because atleast you could understand some kind of purpose with player development etc. But the guy played Juwan and David Wesley the entire 4th quarter. Inexplicable. I loved JVG, but everytime I think of Brandon Roy, it just gives me a bitter taste.
