We'll see Harris very soon, hope we can contain him.

Kidd has lost his legs, he's still a capable PG, and runs the offense well, but doesn't have the lateral speed to keep up the Harris' of the league.

Hilarious. This trade screamed disaster from the moment it was made. At the time of the trade, Devin Harris already had a far better PER than Jason Kidd, despite being constrained by Avery Johnson's iso-happy offense that was obviously failing to take advantage of his strengths. I was wondering "why the hell would you want to trade a bright, promising young guard for an older, less productive, over-the-hill one who actually has a worse fit with your team?"

The trade turned out to be everything I hoped it would be. Kidd's production plummeted when he arrived in Dallas, and Harris is suddenly an all star caliber player (top ten PER in the league, look it up). Cuban knows how badly he screwed up here -- this one was even worse than the Nash fiasco.

I still do not understand last year's Mavs and Suns trade. Did they really think trading young for old would work? I feel bad for the Suns fans but I am loving the Mavs trade. That effectively eliminated them from contender status.

Trading young for old is akin to trading big for small.

Now the Suns and Mavs are in a to the death fight for the #8 playoff seed. Is there anyway both of them couldmiss the playoffs? :D

Man, CDR didn't even get time during this blowout. :( I guess the knee is pretty bad.

This isn't even close to as bad as the Nash fiasco, although both are very embarrassing for Cuban.

Nash went on to become a 2X MVP after leaving the Mavs and, in letting him go, the Mavs got NOTHING in return. At least they got Kidd for Howard, even if he's making a lot of money.

Howard is good and all, and it was a bad trade, but Howard for Kidd (even with Kidd's salary and age) isn't nearly as bad as letting Nash go for nothing.

You mean Devin Harris. Josh Howard is sill on the Dallas roster.

If viewing Kidd is a negative asset given his age and salary, we can argue this trade is worse that letting Nash walk away free. IIRC, Nash's cap space were used on Terry, Dampier etc.

I don't see any possible reason this was a good trade for the Mavs...

...and I wouldn't want it any other way. :D

I used to hate Harris' flopping ass, but since he's not on the Mavs, can't help but like him.
