I can't understand it either. The op want Rafer to startbecause he always lok to yao, nevermind running the offense and other people scoring. F' that, just throw it to yao. Of all the yrs like you've stated of the people that can't pass the ball to yao, its only 1 constant. I don't think we ever heard about pg that can't throw dream or moses the ball and they played with some super scrubs.

Racism against Yao is an automatic discharge from Rockets. Aaron Brook would never think of doing that. You're being to sensitive. Last two games with Brook as a starter, Rockets won and that's good enough for me.

AB not passing enough to Yao is just your point of view. others might view it differently, unless you can back your point of view with stats. Yao usually plays with Rafer as the first unit and when AB comes in, he might be rested. or maybe when he have the chance to pass, he notices a double team coming. so many possibilities but i still like what i see in AB, he's just in his 2nd season (ditto Scola and Landry) and he have a lot to improve especially in passing but to suggest not passing because of racism is just plain dumb.

OP doesn't know anything about basketball. the mere fact that he compared luther to aaron brooks tells you everything you need to know. brooks is lightyears ahead of luther when it comes to passing. even if brooks did only pass to yao 3 times out of 20 (a stat you apparently made up out of thin air because i saw brooks pass to yao plenty of times), you can be sure its 3 solid passes that yao can actually catch. if luther makes 10 passes out of 20, 5 of them will be passes thrown at yao's feet where he can't catch it, 3 of them will be attempted lobs that get deflected by the defender for a turnover, 1 will be out of bounds, and only 1 will actually make it to yao's hands.

    This thread is worthless.

Aaron Brooks started the last two games, and Yao has gotten 32 and 30 points in both of them.

That is no coincidence.......he is running the offense wonderfully, and he does pass to Yao....at EXACTLY THE RIGHT TIME....and he passes to the wings for their entry pass.

AB is doing a great job....the OP is not.

To me, this is a rookify moment....

Dude, we won. Who gives a sht. You're outcry for brooks being a "racist" is far fetched. Quit assuming the worst.

We asked for another scorer, we got one. You complaining about getting blocked 5 times or whatever, at least he's trying. It's his what, 4th game starting? Give me a break.

You realise that Brooks is, what, less than halfway into his second year in the NBA, right?

I'm glad the Rockets finally have someone who can run the point incase Rafer gets injured. Rafer and Brooks are a nice tandem.

can't believe he brought up racism. must be chinese and so easily offended that yao doesn't get the ball.

in 2 games where yao dominated offensively. and he still wants yao to get the ball more? god.

First, Yao isn't an easy player to pass to. It's crucial to have a good passing angle if you want to deliver him the ball without it resulting in a turnover.

Brooks is barely 6'0 and he's a relatively young player. There's an art to feeding the post, particularly at that size, and maybe he isn't there yet. Further, the coaches have stressed repeatedly that if the angle isn't there for getting the Yao the ball, reverse it quickly and look for something on the weakside. If you just stand there with the ball, looking for an opening, you play into the defense's hand. Ball movement is key.

BTW, in the last two games where Brooks has started, Yao has his first back-to-back 30 points games since the 06/07 season.

Yao and AB were playing well off each other last night. it's fun to watch AB run around Yao's picks and lose his defender. there was another play with AB cutting and Yao dishing out for the sweet reverse layup.

    too many "why" threads

I would much rather have Brooks as a starter than Rafer. Brooks can penetrate, he can break down defenses on his own, he gets other guys shots. Oh yeah, he averages better than 40% as well.

As far as I'm concerned Rafer should be coming off the bench when he comes back.
