Right now Shaq is at 10th place with 26,621 points and Dream is at 7th place with 26,946. I hope not but if Shaq play long enough its a possibility.

I don't give a hoot whether he passes Dream or not because he ain't playin' ball in Rockets uniform.

The points Dream scored during his career is not just the number lying in the scoring list,it's beyond that. :)

I think he will. that is 325 points about 4 points/game/season without even going to the playoffs.

if he avg. 10 pts. per game for the rest of the season excluding back to backs; yes he will have 27000 points by seasons end. SUX!

Well he would have passed dream long ago if he wasn't such a terrible free throw shooter.

honestly i thought shaq had already surpassed dream on the scoring list. it doesnt really mean much to me it certainly doesnt diminish dream's career and legacy. remember shaq is also one of the greatest centers to ever play the game.

Even with the current age limit rule, players are starting their careers earlier than in Hakeem's time and before. Such as Kobe, Lebron, Carmelo, Durant...many more great players will be passed up in the ranking years from now

Went and looked it up... he's missed 4,992 free throws in his career. If he had made half of those, he'd be good for fifth all-time (though he probably wouln't have gotten fouled as much if he were a better shooter).

No I looked it up on basketball reference and did the math.

I don't think I've even been to the ESPN website since we got Pippen.

its possible, only 325 pts left. suns still have 50 games, shaq only need to contribute 6 pts per game, its easy to him..

You kidding me? He'll have that by late February. It really doesn't matter though. He was one of the most dominating centers in the history of the NBA who has been really good for a really long time. I have nothing but respect for the second son of Jerrel (lol)

He is not Hakeem good, but he deserves to be mentioned up there. Plus, just ask Shaq who he thinks the best center ever is. Clue: it's not him

Shaq at his prime was unstoppable so even if he was a good free throw shooter he still would of went to the line 8 - 10 times a game easy. As far as Hakeem's scoring mark, Shaq will over take him but no biggie. Records are meant to be broken. Besides Hakeem is first in all time blocks.
