Umm well Yao's turnover average has been down compared to the last few seasons. So that's a good thing.

It seems to me that bashing Yao is all you do in your life. So when people tell you "get a life", we see another post of yours.

I'm saying Yao Ming has had a terrific 2 games, but he should get more rebounds.

Is that asking too much? It's like asking T-Mac to play defense.

Today I remeber Scola taking 2 straight from Yao hands, Yao don't care and let him have it.

The Good thing Houston out rebound the opponent this last 2 games, Non like DH that get 15+ rebounds but he is team get hammer on the boards.

Other thing, Yao is the only and best intimidating force on the middle, Every time he help or challenge the opposition shot, the miss FG goes to the hand of someone else who gets credit for a rebound.

Teams Vs Yao try to take him out of the paint with a center that can shoot the ball, he can either stay inside and give a wide open shot but get a better chance for a rebound in case of a miss, or try to at least get close enough to contest the shot but leaving to someone else a chance to rebound the ball instead.

Contest the shot = less rebound for him but lower FG% for the opposition and more rebounds chances for his teammates.

Stay inside and don't contest the shot = more rebound for him but a higher FG% for the opposition.

I think is better for the team for him to alter/contest shots than padding his rebounds. to bad he is the only serious shot blocker on the team.

Tmac had 14 boards against Denver, that's about 8 boards he "stole" from his teammates....Landry had 11 rebs tonight in only 20 mins, thats about 4 or 5 he "stole".....so quit ya whining!

Defense is different. Every player has a man to guard. It's 5 v 5 basketball, a guy can't guard two players at once.

Rebounding however, only requires 1 out of 5 players to grab the ball. As long as 1 of out 5 players grab the ball each time, I'm fine, the team is fine.

Yao doesn't need to grab boards when in the nuggets game McGrady was dominating the board and the Kings game Scolandry had 10+ rebounds a piece.

More rebounds means more jumping which means more chance to get a broken foot, stupid idea!

We need Yao to score and deter and leave the board for Scolandry.

If you have watched closely Yao purposely doesn't rebound when another rocket is near by. It's almost by design, I assume it's because:

    1. The team recognizes Yao is slower to the ball if it doesn't bounce right to him so it's easier and faster for another rocket to rebound it. Why have Yao go after the rebound when another player is there and is quicker to grab it? Notice how the other rockets are quick to go after it and how Yao just boxes out for them. It's as if they've been told to go get it because Yao will box out for them. And Yao's got such good instincts to know when there's another rocket near him to box out. Watch the game in which Yao got just 1 rebound two weeks ago and you'll know what I mean.

    2. The team recognizes Yao is bigger and can box out the bigger rebounder. If Yao goes after it, most likely he'll loose the race to the ball. He's best to box out the better rebounder. Our forwards and guards are usually bigger and better rebounders then their opponents. Also most likely the opponents SFs, SGs, and PGs aren't likely to go after it. Keeping Yao to box out would make more sense against their Cs or PFs.

Why are we having this discussion when we 95% of the time out rebound our opponents? If we're concerned Yao isn't rebounding then we should be concerned about the rebounding team stats overall which are obviously in our favor. If Yao wanted to rebound he'd be averaging 12+ a night, but I'm willing to bet the rockets would have less rebounds as a team.

The only reason to pick on Yao about this is just to pick on him. He get's 80-90% of the boards that come to him, and 80-90% of time boxes out his player when the rebound doesn't go his way. And it seems like a strategy that's working for the rockets. Yao doesn't care about stats, he cares about winning.

I'm so tired of hearing people trash our best player after getting 30pts, 6rebs, 4ast and 3blks. Yao lead us to this win and that's what counts most.

    What I meant to post:

"Alot of Yao's success should be attributed to McGrady, and vice versa. They really have come close to mastering the repost."

    Too much beer!
