i'm over it. Don't think I could keep going back to that for the rest of my life and thinking...ok, I guess I've actually kinda blocked that out of my mind for the most part
we were so close to drafting Roy too. Could you imagine the rockets with him?he is mr clutch. Money down the stretch.
I would like to have Roy, but I can't complain about acquiring Battier during that draft. Sure these numbers look great, but Roy wouldn't get nearly the touches and shot attempts in a system revolving around Yao with T-Mac playmaking.
Ehh, I don't think so. Roy is playing out of his mind and hitting mostly jump shots. The Suns have tried throwing plenty of different looks at him and he hasn't been phased one bit. Bell would be getting lit up too, IMO.
I'm sick and tired of TNT slobbing Brandon Roy's and the Blazers knobs like they were the Yankees or the Red Sox.
Also the thing is his game isn't based on athleticism, but rather skill. I can see him playing at a high level well into his 30's. He's Battier with 20x better scoring and passing skills.
i wanted roy in that years draft! i knew he was going to be the best player on that draft!....we shouldve tanked that season for Roy! oh well we have to move on
Exactly. He's humble enough to root for, but still has some swag in his step. He lets his game do the talking, and the first thing out of his mouth? It was a team effort. Roy is getting closer and closer to becoming the class of the league, right now he's a step beloow the Kobes, Wades, etc. Oh and McGrady - go for the White. I think it looks cleanest.
Um, for one, we were only one pick away from having him, and had it not been for the Blazers sliding in at the last second and taking him, we WOULD have had him. Second of all, you and everybody else on the planet knew he was the most NBA ready of all the picks that year, so it wasn't a big secret that he was going to be a stud.
He took 21 FTs. The reason he got so many open jumpers is they backed off of him several times. Raja Bell wouldn't have made a difference even if Roy wasn't burying jumpers left and right. The last 5 games, he's shot 65 FTs. What happened with Roy late in tonight's game is what happens on a regular basis. He is close to unguardable. If you put a smaller player on him, he will attack and back them down, immediately. If you try a bigger player (like JRich, Matt Barnes, Raja Bell, Larry Hughes, etc), he will get a first step, seal the defender off and guarantee a layup or a foul. He becomes very physical and teams just cannot stop him. What put him in the stratosphere tonight was hitting five 3-pointers, which isn't his style. Roy isn't up there with Kobe and Wade, but he's good enough to be the best player on a championship team. But the Blazers are too young to be a contender.
