How are these idiots not machined gunned yet? And that's the best picture they have of that teenager... with his eyes closed.
A part of me dies inside when I hear Americans railing about "stupid protestors"... come on fellas, foundations of democracy and freedom here... etc etc
I agree. Kind of. Cop kills boy in america: Brief article written. Numerous people remark that cops are corrupt and bad. No real action taken. Cop usually reinstated a month later after everyone forgets. I don't think that's preferable to rioting. Not that rioting is all that helpful per say either, when it gets overtaken by hooligans and anarchists.
No fair, I want to riot! I went to CU for 2 years. They had a big riot there the year before I went, and the year after I left. I want to walk up and down the streets breaking anything I see! But if anyone touches my car, I'll pull out my assult rifle and light em up!
They're not protesting JUST the kid's death. This is the last straw for Greek people from all the years of government corruption, their country's loss of industrialization, and police brutality. The people are realizing that their country is going broke while the powers that be and bankers are making a fortune. They're experiencing the same thing there that we have for countless years, only we're too brainwashed by the media and television to do anything about it. We will throw away our rights and freedom for a little bit of security like the sheep we are. Most Americans will watch the Revolution on their televisions.
Greeks also riot? Wow, what do they do? Throw whole bunch of Greek letters in their robes? I just can't imagine the degree of seriousness would be high. Greeks are too civilized for that.
aww did you learn that in world history class? We essentially did the exact same ****ing thing 300 years ago, except we threw tea
Its the concept thats important. People here look down upon protesters just because America is politically stable compared to other people. They don't realize that others have to fight for freedom/liberty.
The first man killed in the Boston Massacre was African American/Native American: "Crispus Attucks A sailor mulatto (African American and Native American descent), died on the spot" Link DD
Oops, I knew I was wrong when say "probably". Thank you sir. Time to pay a visit to the site this weekend, since I am now in Boston.
Not really. It's how people were brought up in this country. The cold war etc, anti-communism, capitalism, social value. Lots of things come to play. Wealthy nations generally have less riots than poorer one, so economy is a big factor too.
