So the prior offseason was one of the most exciting ones in recent memory. A lot of big names got signed or traded, and I guess a lot of teams were to at least make some noise in the season. Ironically, despite the moves the league is more lopsided than ever, with the Lakers, Celts and Cavs having their way with just about everyone. So which offseason move dissapointed you the most?

    *Maggette to GS

    *Brand to Sixers

    *Jermaine O'neal to the Raptors

    *Artest to Rox

    Disappointed me?

I don't know if that's quite the right word for it, given I don't care for any of those teams except for our Rockets. But I did think the O'Neal to Raptors trade was a bad one for Toronto and Brand leaving Clippers when Baron hopped on board was mildly upsetting because I wanted to see if the Clippers could actually not suck for once.

Nenad kristic (hope i got the name right) to europe. He went to europe with a salary that rox could and should match.

I can't say that any of these trades actually disappoint me. I'm just glad that they all went to teams that shouldn't affect the Rockets playoff chances.

I do gotta say that if the Clippers had Baron, Brand and Magette along with Camby they would probably be a playoff team.

with a poll coming this late, I'm gonna assume the question means "who has been the most disappointing?" (i go Brand)

maggette was gone regardless and camby was only there because of brand leaving.

but it has to be brand because it hurt two teams...the sixers have clearly not been the same this year while you cant attribute all of that on him the team has not played even close to expectations.

and the clippers, with brand there they were much more well rounded as a team now they have kaman, camby, randolph all of whom should be starting but only 2 of them will. with brand there the team would be a lot better imo since people would have already know what their roles would be and not be messing around here and there.

Yeah that's what I meant lol. I was actually thinking I phrased it wrong after I clicked "submit". I'm not disappointed with any of the trades. I'm quite happy with all the signing flops to be perfectly honest. The more teams suck the easier it will be for us to get a high seed lol.

But yeah, what I meant was which signing was the most dissapointing given the preseason expectations people had prior the season. Please chalk it up to translation issues lol. English is not my native language

Brand. Obviously. I didn't expect Maggette or JO to transform their teams. Instead of putting Artest to the Rockets, BD to the Clips would have been better.

Brand was disapointing on 2 accounts. 1. he gave up on his team(sorta pulled a Donald Sterling on them :D ) and 2. His play & injuries in Philly got their coach fired. I wouldn't be surprised to see the interem couch fired after 1 game, since he caused Brand to dislocate his shoulder & miss another month.

The result of this poll is obvious, majority of us voted for Brond, and now he will miss one month for injury. Now 76ers ranking the ninth in the east, I predict this season they may out of playoff rank although now is only Dec.

Why isn't Baron Davis to the Clippers one of the options here

Surely Jermaine O'Neal to the Raptors doesn't really matter that much?
They only gave up Nesterovic and Ford (who they didn't want to pay because he wasn't going to play much!). I guess they also gave up pick 17 - but that was used on Hibbert - who looks like a slug against NBA opponents!

Pretty low risk move by Toronto on the whole I thought?

Just a shame that people are taking them a bit more seriously this year and have figured out that limiting Bosh = a win.

None of them disappoint me because I'm not a fan of any of those other teams and I liked the Artest trade and I think it will end up being good for us.

As far as what trade has flopped so far obviously Brand to Philly and JO to Toronto, but I don't get why people thought each team would be better than last year.

Elton Brand didn't play a lot last year so signing him was going to be a big risk and now his shoulder is hurt and has a 50/50 chance of popping back out of place again which would require surgery and would cause him to miss 6 months. But I think the media and a lot of us overrated Philly because of this move. Philly is going nowhere unless Andre Igoudala becomes a more versatile player which I doubt.

As far as Toronto goes, JO we all know is injury prone and hurt his knee again earlier, and he's lucky that didn't turn out more serious because it looked pretty bad. But the problem is they have no wing players that are versatile. Until they get better wing players they can't be taken serious.

I didn't put BD here because so far he's been playing the same way he played everywhere else--he'll win you games and he'll lose you games. Chucking 3 pt, breaking plays and going solo, that's the way BD has always played and won (or lost) in GS. Its just magnified there because he's unhappy and he's the only one doing it (besides Ricky Buckets). Anybody who expected him to do otherwise was just deluding themselves IMHO.

Compare that with Brand, JO, Maggette and even Artest, who have been playing below expectations of the fans. I mean, most of the Rox posters here probably expected Artest to "dunk that B*tch" more than he has the games he played. I certainly didn't expect him to have trouble finishing at the rim.

I guess I'll make a huge signing/trade thread once All-star break comes around. Hope to see your insightful posts there again :)
