Looks like a dislocated shoulder, he went airborne and landed hard against the Bucks just now. Not getting any prettier for the Sixers.
Iguodala is starting to get major, major hate from the ever-classy Philly fans. It'll only get worse if he can't step up in Brand's absence. But seriously why was everyone lining up to sign Elton? Did they not have calculators to add up all the game's he's missed to injury?
Brand hasn't looked like himself at all. The missed games from the shoulder will further delay his return to form. I'm beginning to doubt Brand will be at his best this entire season. On Iguodala, he's been garbage every time I've seen him except the 1st half of one game. I don't blame Sixers fans for piling on. He's looked relaxed and dispassionate since his freezer is now full of a guaranteed $80 million. He's one of those players that teams are forced to pay but he cannot live up to his contract. Iggy deserves every boo he gets. For an exact opposite example, look at Danny Granger.
Funny how the Sixers came back and won once he left the game. Who knows? Maybe they'll be better off without him. He definitely hasn't looked the same since his last injury. In fact, that's probably the understatement of the year.
That's what he gets for screwing his friend and his former franchise. What he did was worse that what Boozer did.
I'm not sure the Clippers mind so much that he's gone, esp. since Z-Bo is a better player than he is at this point. I have a lot of respect for Brand, but keep in mind that being a solid player on bad teams for so long is going to distort others' perception of you. For one thing, his situation masked flaws in his game that Philly fans are sure to notice. His play so far has been atrocious (embarrassing turnovers and defense) and yet everyone but Brand has been scapegoated.
Thank you for someone finally showing Granger some love. The kid is a stud. T-Mac lite. Got his contract and hasn't lost any fire, as it would seem.
Very much expected Brand to be better than this, disappointed in him. I considered him underrated & a notch under Tim Duncan & Kevin Garnett, even on the bad teams he was on. I'da chosen Brand over Amare Stoudamire cuz he actually plays on both ends of the floor. Randolph for the moment his nicely filling in his departed role in Clipper land though, not missing Brand much cuz of that....Consider me a Danny Granger fan as well. Better PER last year than McGrady.
What makes him special is not only is he maintaining his production, he's clearly raised his game to another level. He feels the responsibility of the contract and has the fortitude and integrity to willingly carry the burden. The NBA needs more like him.
Just heard on ESPN (Chris Broussard I think is the guy's name) that Dunleavy didn't really want B. Davis in LA b/c of his reputation for breaking plays and slacking on defense. However, Elton Brand reportedly assured Dunleavy that he could help "control" Davis, so they went ahead and signed him. Well we know what happened next. Apparently Davis has been the most difficult player for Dunleavy in his 16 years of coaching. Sorry if this is old news.
Funny, isn't it... that the Shenanigans 3 (Brand, Baron, Reggrette) and their teams now all cursed. Instant Karma, Baby!
That signing has been a bust so far. They play better without him. He is just too slow and he cant run up and down the court with the rest of the sixers. He plays a half-court game and they dont have any half-court type players.
