No, but its still darn impressive. Lets talk when the Celtics get to 18 or 19 wins in a row. As someone already said, 14 in a row happens every season.
I'll say it again. Second place isn't a record. Geez. An unsurpassed measurement: a world record in weightlifting; a record for cold weather. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/records
It's the longest winning streak since 1972. In this era of basketball, it's the longest winning streak. It does mean something. But I'd still trade it for some health and a 2nd round appearance.
yeah, i dont want to see anyone getting close or passing that 22-win RECORD other than the rockets that is. we passed the 2000 lakers. thats the team with kobe and shaq. maybe the best team of our time. AND we did it with an injury ridden team in a more talented league and possibly the toughest western conference the nba has ever seen. how can any rockets fan dismiss all of that?? go ATLANTA end the streak. i just wish a healthy houston was there to end their streak.
Thank you for proving my point that it wasn't a record. With their 94-74 defeat against the Celtics on Tuesday, the Rockets' 22-game winning streak came to an end. Houston passed the 1970-71 Milwaukee Bucks last Friday for the second longest stretch in NBA history. The 1971-72 L.A. Lakers possess the longest winning streak in NBA history with 33 straight victories. Please see the definition once again: A record is an unsurpassed measurement: a world record in weightlifting; a record for cold weather.
That's still an 8 game win streak away. I don't think they'll do it. That 22 gamer was something else. Over a quarter of the season unbeaten? Nuts.
For those who say the streak means nothing, I pity you. Your fanhood is so meaningless. That streak showed character and toughness. There is a championship team every year. But there is only one 22-game streak in more than 30 years. Which one is more impressive?
Your r****ded. Have you never heard the phrase "second best record", or "It's on record as being the second longest win-streak"? We broke a 37 year old RECORD and are officially in second place.
Could this be a first? Houston fans supporting the Lakers if he Celtics continue their winning streak and go into the Christmas Day game with it intacked.
