Is this officially the longest movie thread in hangout history? Considering that there were actually like 6 dark Knight threads when the flick came out, this is impressive.
This film sets a new standard for superhero movies. Grand Slam Home Run! If a 3rd edition happens, I hope they take their time and do it right. The Spiderman 3 flameout is still fresh on my mind.
Finally got around to my second viewing of this the other day, and the immediate hyperbole from opening weekend couldn't seem more ridiculous. Great movie no doubt, greatest superhero movie as well, but have no idea how some people were ranking this thing as the greatest film ever, or even anywhere near the top 10.
I've had this one Blu-Ray since Tuesday. Still love this movie. I didn't notice that the screens went into that "IMAX" resolution thing until towards the end of the movie (Lambo car chase). When I bought it at Best Buy on Tuesday, there were a bunch of display cases for this movie and a steady flow of people picking it up. I wonder what the DVD/Blu-Ray sales were.
I love what they did with the Joker case. I didn't notice it until I flipped it over and saw all the scribbles.
You sure? Much more than that it seems: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/entertainmentnewsbuzz/2008/12/dvd-sales-not-r.html
Agreed, I don't know what they were thinking putting Maggie G in there. She looks all right but someone else would have been MUCH better.
Anyone get the bonus mask (either Batman or Joker)? It was a little smaller than what I thought it would be... I bought the 2 disk special edition and Batman mask for my brother but they didn't have the combo for BluRay so my mom bought only the bluray disk for me... That Joker mask is cool though.
Cool. I should have just bought the joker mask combo. Oh well, maybe if they still have any next time I am in the store.
I just came across a really awesome article dealing with a sequel to The Dark Knight. It's a little bit of a pitch but it brings up great points on how another Batman sequel should be handled. http://www.firstshowing.net/2009/06/27/christopher-nolans-batman-3-it-starts-and-ends-with-time/
i dont get it. even if its 20 years later it still should just be a older heath ledger. that wont change it a damn bit.
