am I the only one who absolutely HATES listening to this guy? he's so freaking annoying, and not only that, but he also ruins my JVG enjoyment.. everytime Van Gundy says something, Mark "I like to sound like I know what the hell I'm talking about" Jackson jumps up and offers his stupid opinion, which prompts JVG to own him time and time again.. I just think he's really disrespectful and offers ZERO insight, I'd much rather listening to Clyde and his "consummate professional" gems than this d-bag.. I mean, I understand why BSPN would love such a r****d so much, but at least put him with Walton (so I can mute the TV and listen to music while watching).. but I really love listening to Van Gundy, and this r****d ruins it for me every single time! /rant
I agree. It is quite embarrassing that he's on the main announcing crew as a "color commentator". Another thing he seems to say a lot is getting it done. "That player is gettin it done". If ESPN wants to make this right, the main team should be Breen, Gundy, and Jon Barry.
Mark Jackson is brutal. I sorta feel bad for him because he has to have enough self-awareness to realize that he brings very little to the telecast, other than to serve as the self-appointed contrarian to whatever point JVG makes. Its bad.
actually, jackson is an invaluable addition to the breen/jvg crew. jackson represents every ESPN hype beast who just takes the popular opinions (tmac is done, kobe is better than lebron, stephen jackon's charge was a good call, all stars "should' be those who play the best for the first half of the season"). he states an opinion that most ppl accept without much thinking, and JVG steps in and refutes the popular perspective. jackson needs to be there so JVG can have someone to tear down and offer insight in the process
Mark Jackson is gay. Really though, he just likes Black players. He doesn't like efficiency and heart. He's a tool.
I like Mark Jackson a lot, actually. And he works great in combination with Van Gundy and Breen. Those 3 have great chemistry together.
The 3 form a great tandem, but I think Jon Barry or Bill Walton would make it even better. I was listening to Mark Jackson and Dave Pasch on Wednesday, and that was incredibly humdrum. JVG can make any broadcast fun to watch.
Glad to see im not the only one who feels like this. Its a shame they have to stick this A@# with two talented commentators. I found myself yelling shut up to my television on several different occasions during last nights telecast. Just because you played the game, does not make you some expert color guy, see Clyde Drexler. i basically disagree that everything that comes out of dudes mouth. Get over yourself dude.
Barry has too much respect for Van Gundy. He'll agree with everything JVG says. And Walton and JVG really dislike eachother, as I recall. Walton can be entertaining, but he's not really a sidekick type. JVG, just because of how good he is at this, needs to be the primary analyst. I don't see Walton working well as his foil.
Totally agree. I can't stand Mark Jackson. He's definitely not the worst, but he's one of the weaker espn commentators.
While it was a stupid post, I think he meant he only likes the players because they are black, and doesn't appreciate non-black players. I completely disagree with the OP by the way. I really enjoy the interaction between JVG and Jackson.
Mark Jackson is a tool and the biggest by far. He reminds me of Barkley except he is not even half as funny. Not to mention that Barkley admits he kids half of the time and just tries to be funny. Also, Mark Jackson is the same idiot who thought Kobe was greater than Jordan and that Dirk would be greater than Bird.
