How does the wii sell so well. I have a wii and I haven't touched it for 6 months. My parents have a wii and I don't think they have used it for even longer. The graphics on that thing are terrible. I mean madden on it is just terrible.

My boss mentioned today that he's bought a WII for his wife for xmass. I have met his wife once and she looks nothing like someone who would play videogames. So there you have it. The WII sells so well because of it's name. Everyone wants a WII because everyone else wants one.

I don't get people buying Wiis, the 360 is priced less at $199 as well. But hey, that's what happens when you start recruiting non-traditional gamers, a lot of people buying Wiis are adults rather than teens, even old people buy Wiis.

well i will just say this

my mom yes MY MOM asked me if I had a wii and if I do if I could bring it home one day so she could play it and see what the fuss is about.

I love my mom but she is as clueless as it gets when it comes to video games the fact that she even knew what a wii was sent my jaw to the floor.

My dad was even surprised at my mom and he knows a little bit more (like nintendo, sega, playstation as names) but he hasnt ever played a game. he considered buying one for my mom because she mentioned it.

Probably becase of the type of audience Nintendo targets. The Wii targets Senior citizens and little kids while ps3/xbox 360 target mostly hardcore gamers. The Wii is a fad and it will die first just like all of nintendos kiddie systems.

PS3 needs a price cut badly right now and I suspect will shall see one around February when KZ2 launches.

360 numbers are good on paper but historically not very well for a system in its 4th Christmas. By now at the 299 price point, it should sell in the million for at least Oct to Dec every year.

out of curiosity, how are sales for the World Tour compared to Rock Band? Seems like I see that game on sale more than RB2, which RB2 has been out a month longer and never see it on sale.

hell, I found a deal for $35 shipped with a Xplorer Guitar for 360 I'm considering getting.

It doesn't take 3 years for a fad to die, and the Wii's audiance is a lot older than the teen to 20's core audiance of the 360/P
    S3.

Sony needs to stop messing around and develop some better games for the PSP. At least start adding more wifi games, like they promised from Day One.

Haha...love your 360/PS3 much? The Wii targets *everyone*. Whether people people want to admit it or not, the Wii pretty much threw a wrench in how people percieve videogames. (i.e. it's no longer the nerd box tucked away in the deepest recesses of your bedroom) I kid you not that attractive girls have actually asked to bring it out in the living room so that they can play it. How many women would you say would love to play Gears of War? That's right...none.

If any system is going to die in the next gen (and how much more advanced can games really get than they already are? Even NICER graphics?) , it'll be the 360 or PS3. They offer essentially the same thing.

2 million systems is mind blowing. It's almost as hard to believe that Nintendo managed to actually get that many on the shelves.

Sony needs a price drop badly. At this point it doesn't really matter for this 'generation', but they are really taking a beating in the sales comparison.

Sony missed the boat by not cutting the PS3 price again for the holidays. For the 360 to kill it by such a large margin in monthly sales is not good. Sometimes I wonder if Sony realizes they must react to the marketplace.
