That another player(s) on the Rockets score more than 30pts other than Tmac and Yao? That's what so sad about this Rockets team. Everyone keep on b****ing about Yao and Tmac when they have a bad game but how about other players picking up the slack? I don't know if coaching is to blame. We've seen lots of bench players on the other team picking up slack for their team by sometime scoring from 30 to 40 points for their team. I've never seen that's happening with the Rockets since Yao and Tmac were together.
didnt ron have 30 or 31 this year in a game? i think Bonzi came close to that last year or year before in a game at boston. bobby sura had 36 in a game once for sure.

Our scoring is always balanced if both Yao and Tracy are out. If they are in and not doing well, same thing. Nobody is going to score of 30 for any team that isn't a star. If you want wins, balanced scoring is the key.
People always want to talk about defense, which is important, but for the past few seasons outside of Yao and T-Mac, the Rockets have had problems scoring. This is why Rudy Gay, a young athletic scorer, would've been a great addition. Anybody remember that playoff game against Utah two season when the highest scoring player outside of Yao and T-Mac was Battier with 8 pts? It was some kind of dubious record. It's pathetic actually. Ultimately to win, you have to score more points than your opponent.
True. I'd rather have only Tracy or Yao score 30 and all the other starters (besides them 2) score in the upper teens, and the bench players score in the lower teens, than have other players score in the 30s. Deep, effective bench is better in the long run.
But the logic you are using suggests that we don't have the talent to score points. We have the talent... there is no mistaking that... we just need everyone on the same page. Adelman has 60 games to get the offense clicking. On the bright side, we are getting to the line and making the FTs... that really helps the offense out. If we're shooting 43%... but we're getting to the line 15 times a game and making 80% of the FTs, our actual offensive output is a lot higher. To bring stats into the equation... we're 18th in offensive efficentcy while our eFG% is ranked 23rd. Obviously the FT% is picking up the slack.
That's my point and it's not really smart basketball. When guys realize too much on Yao or Tmac and they aren't having a good game this team is having problems. That's what happen when you have role players who specialize in some particular area and lack in others. I'm not saying it's bad that there are specialize role players. But it seems to me these role players on this team can't step it up when Yao or Tmac is having a bad game. Seems to me that show there's no leader on this team but Yao and Tmac. There are a couple of guys on this team that are capable scorer but aren't showing it or stepping up. I guessed that's what happen when you are given an assignment as a role player you become less greedy to go out and outscore Tmac or Yao. Yeah I know it's team game. But I would love to see someone other than Yao or Tmac and surprise us with more than 25 pts in a winning games more often if this team is expect to go deep.
If someone did. . . Tracy would have them traded . . unless it was Rafer When was the last another was allowed to take that many shots? Rocket River
sad indeed. that's why we haven't advanced past the first round. we only have 2 scoring threats who teams fear. hopefully ron can heal up and deliver more 20+ pts games for us.
um, ron has averaged more shots than tracy this year and got less points. tracy will give you shots. it's a matter of are you going to take those shots?
