    Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens
    One of the hidden, little-known gems in the Houston area. Great place for nature photography and hiking. Wedding albums are routinely shot there at the gardens.

    Btw, I'll second the 50/1.8 lens. Cheap and fast lens and you can get it for only about 80-100 bucks. Great bang for the buck and you'll be amazed how much better your photographs are (so long as you're competent with the camera).
