If they could get him to sign and not prevent them from addressing other needs, I think everyone would love peppers.
Seems like we'll be picking in the 12-15 range and I don't think Orakpo is gonna be available at that point. He'll be Top 8 pick for sure but I could easily see him going to Kansas City or the Bengals in the Top 5. His workout at the combine should be a show and that should boost his stock into the Top 5.
I dont see why this would. From I read during this past offseason, the 09 offseason was the year that they were going to have the most cap space plus the increase in the salary cap should give them some real options during free agency.
I would love Peppers but won't his eventual "Franchising" by the Panthers prevent pretty much all teams from being able to sign him?
The defense is fine......the team needs to focus on offense. If they stopped turning it over so much the defense would be more rested and look a lot better. DD
Wow are you serious? The offense just needs to get some reps.. Schaub is young in terms of experience (and he isn't Sage in terms of turnovers).. Slaton is just a rookie, Walter is in his first year of contributing.. Brown and Winston are young obviously. With all that, they have a top offense in the league (esp. when everyone's healthy). I say focus on the defense no doubt.. needs help all around, but secondary has been a need forever, and another lineman wouldn't hurt
nobody in the draft that could make a big impact on offense. We have our #1 and #2 WRs, we have our RB, we have our FB, we have the TE, we have the line that we want (just need maturation) We have the 3rd-4th best offense, and 18 of the turnovers came from RosenFAILs. Take him out, and take out the injuries sustained by Schaub and you have ourselves a team thats 8-5 right now. That should be the case, and if it was, I think you wouldnt have said we need an offensive piece. We need a secondary, preferably a rookie safety who can start immediately. i.e.- Laron Landry from 2 years ago who made a big impact.
You can't be serious. If you ask me, every stinking draft pick needs to be spent on defense. How quickly we forget the Colts and Ravens games. Maybe I'd use one for a power running back if a good one is available in our range. And lets not ignore the possibility of losing Dunta to free agency. How exactly will drafting ROOKIES address our turnover issue? You fix turnovers through practice and reps. Our O-line has really improved throughout the season. While we had a few turnovers in Green Bay, none of them were really due to the offensive line. We need Andre Davis to get healthy so Jacobi isn't taking punts. The Owen Daniels fumble was a fluke.
I don't understand "no chance" unless you're a ridiculous homer. Orakpo could easily fall to 12, and the Texans could be picking at 12. Michael Johnson could even be the first DE off the board..
Hmmmmm, we're 3rd in the league in offense and 20th in defense. I wonder where we should focus our attention.
