http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=281209010 I really hope this was lazy reporting. Otherwise it would suggest that McGrady's decided to double his self-prescribed time off.
Yikes...I thought we might have him back by next week. But hey, if we're winning 2 out of 3 games each week and competing for a spot, I think it's great to rest T-Mac. We just need to do something small to add some depth for insurance. IMO, Von has now taken Luther's spot. If Luther isn't going to be used, we might as well get a low-salary veteran who can still score.
I think, and correct me if I'm worng, but his 3 weeks off would be over around the 27th (Utah game). It's is pretty much the end of the month, so they were probably just rounding up.
He is out for 1,5 weeks so he probably won't play for another 10 or more days. So you know, 20 or 30 it is not a big difference
Give him the rest of the month off , besides the Cavs game every other game is very winnable , as long as Artest play we will be ok. We need to get Mcgrady back fully healthy.
we need him back, because artest need the rest, i know everyone saw his knee gave up on him, during the game.
agreed..we dont want to see when Tmac comes in, its artest turn to take a 3 weeks off. We need everybody to stay healthy to develop a chemistry
They said that, but really it just look like he slipped on a wet spot on the court. That said, I do think his ankle is hurting, and he said after the game last night that he does need some time off, but he's sticking it out until Tracy can return. I wonder how long Tracy's self prescribed extra time off will take to irritate a team-mate who is also legitimately hurting. I think Tracy can use the rest, really, but whether all that time is necessary while another star is hurting is debatable, and whether it will become a sore spot in the locker room is a concern for me.
he will never get healthy. there is always be something hurting him. he may decide he's healthy enough to play, but thats a big difference.
I would be fine if he sat out for another six weeks or so. I want him to be as good as he can be. The depth that we have on this team allows us to let him sit. The playoff race is already down to 9 teams. We would still make the playoffs even if he didnt play again for the rest of the year. We would not win in the playoffs with out him, but if you think about it, we are not going to win with him if he keeps playing the ways he was early this year. If we can get him to what he was at the end of last year which was a step back from years in past I will still be happy. We need him to be atleast 85 % to win a championship and the only way he can get back like that is to sit..
Doesn't Artest need some rest off that ankle? T-Mac should try to rehab it as fast as he possibly can. No point in making Artest push his injury to the limit in December...
ron artest is doing what tracy did until battier got back. now ron is buying time for tracy. when tracy gets back, i won't be surprised if he misses 1-2 weeks. hopefully people won't bash ron then for "not dealing with the pain"
