I cant believe the Rockets came back from 20 against the Mavs. Even if they dont win, this is the first time this team has shown any heart in weeks.
Well ladies and gents, we are going to OT!! I can only follow the game on ESPN's play-by-play, but Mobley blocked by Adrian Griffin going for a three to win the game? I know there was only 3 seconds left, but was there a better option than going for a 3-pointer? Oh well, lets just hope we can pull this one out in overtime!
Amazing. Only the Rockets could blow a five point lead in thirty seconds. All they need to guard against is three-pointers, and they consistently leave the league's best three-point shooters wide open. And of course, Steve comes back to drill a jumper and hit Eddie for a three! They HAVE this thing! DEFENSE!
But thank goodness for that play, we were in serious danger of winning there. The knicks lost to the freaking Bulls, we have to keep pace. And if the Mavs lose that makes it easier for the Lakers to have a better record which we don't want. So lets hope the Mavs pull it out, we made our comeback, we showed we can play, that's all a tanker like me needs to see.
HELL YEAH!!!!!! We won! Right now I dont care about a draft pick, we just came from 20 down and beat the 2 seeded Mavs. What a game.
Too bad... WE WON BY THREE!!! Hold on... doh! We just hurt our lottery chances. (not there was any real chance, or benfit, of moving up to the 4 spot) I think we have the 5th spot nailed down. Not much chance of being caught and next to no chance of catching Denver now!!
Problem is I know we are about to play memphis which is very winnable and I think another sorry team. If we win both of those and the knicks and cavs lose out we are screwed down to seventh. Our magic number is 3 for the 5th spot (depending on the tiebreaker it may be 4 in terms of the knicks). playing against a great team, this loss was almost a given and we blew it.
We play- Portland - Loseable Memphis - Winnable (though given our record against them this year, I wouldn't immediately mark it down as a win...) Denver - Winnable (though see above) Portland - Loseable Realistically I could see us losing 3 out of the last 4. I think it is too much to ask for the Rockets to beat 2 lottery bound teams and/or Portland twice.
Headline 1. Francis storms back. 2. Mavs come down with a fever, in overtime loss. ( Cat scratch fever.) 3. Eddie drains the Mavs hopes, for home court. Great game!!
I agree. This game just restores some confidence in me about the Rockets ability. I hate tankers too.
I couldnt agree more! No one saw that game coming. I think that we are pretty much a lock for the 5 spot anyway.
see? now doesnt it feel good to win. this is why i love when the nuggets play tough and beat teams they should lose to. it feels damn good.
I don't understand the tankers ... on one hand they picked on the Spurs tanking to get Tim Duncan ... now on the other hand they want the Rockets to tank to get a good pick ...
I dont either. I understand wanting to get a better draft pick for the team, but no matter what we are going to have a good position in the lottery. I just cant bring myself to root for the Rockets to lose. It is just against my "morals" as a fan I guess.
