    Some examples would be..

Jon Miller's "it is gone, A HOME RUUN!!"

    Mariners TV announcer, "Goodbye baseball!"

Mariners Radio announcer, "swung on and belted, going deep, and it will FLY AWAY!"

Yankees Radio announcer John Sterling goes something like (I think that is his name), ""its high, is long, its deep IT'S GAANE!!

Mets announcer Gary Thorne, "GOODBYE! HOMERUN!"

I think Milo sometimes says.."ITS OUTTA HERE!!!!, but his call varies tho. I talking about a guy who usually says the same call.

Chris Berman's, "Back, Back, Back, back, GONE!"

My favorite, which is none of the above will be mentioned later.

My favorite was a Harry Carrey(sp?) call that went something like this(I think it may have been during a Cubs-Astros game):

    "There's a high drive.....it could be.....it looks to be....it's a homerun!"

    Then, his partner commentator goes:

"No...the ball was caught by the outfielder. It's an out."

It wasn't even close to a homerun. It was pretty funny in my opinion and has remained with me to this day. He was one of my favorites on homerun calls as well as one of my favorite announcers....as I'm sure alot would agree.

i must have not been alive yet for "good" harry carrey. The one i saw was a drunken, racist MURDERER of players' names. Ever hear him try to say Caminiti, biggio, or hideki irabu? Ever hear his CLASSIC take on Hideo Nomo? Oh my god, those glasses were so thick, people could ice skate on them in the winter.....

Needless to say, i'm not a big fan of carrey.....

What happened between Milo Hamilton and Harry Caray?

I heard Harry's son, the Braves guy, Skip (?) hates Milo.

No idea of the guys name, but he does ESPN Sportscenter sometimes. His " Say hello to my lil friend" is classic.

Loel Passe, after a strikeout: "Now your chunkin in thare"

Gene Elston still is, IMHO, the best baseball announcer ever.

Harry Cary used to nausiate me, but I guess I remember him more from his senile days. I remember one time he called Sammy Sosa by the name Sammy Soda. That, and the wheezing and salivating basically served as a reminder of the fact that everybody gets old and dies. Steve Stone always struck me as the proverbial nurse for the Alzheimers patient, always reminding him that the woman in front of him was his daughter, not his sister.

On that happy note, I don't see how anyone couldn't have mentioned Milo Hamelton by now. Especialy as his gotten older, his 'rollercoster' vocal style sends me back to being 10 years old listening to the Astros on the radio, about to fall asleep. The same thing goes for Jack Buck who used to do the CBS games. His gravely voice wasn't exactly perfect, but rather had character and enough depth to make him stand apart.

Milo and him used to work together. These quotes from a quick deja.com search:

That would be it from Harry's point of view, I guess.

Why do you consider Harry to be racist? First time I've ever heard that.

I loved listening to Harry, he was hysterical. Going to Wrigley Field and watching him sing during the 7th inning stretch was one of the coolest sports experiences I've ever had.

Jack Buck and Vin Scully are also tops in my book.

Don't know his name either but I love that call (sportscenter has a lot of good calls). Also love it when he changes it to "say hello to raef lafrentz" for a raef highlight.

Good call Timing. They are right behind Elston in my book as well.

forget Harry Caray (he was a White Sox also ran)...he only got that Cubs job after Jack Brickhouse retired.

best call...imo...funny and goofy like he was...

"back, baaack, baaaaack, hey.hey...it's a Home Run"

You had to hear Brickhouse...Jack Buck and Vin Scully tried to be too smart like they wanted to be the color man...Brickhouse had the down home play-by-play like Gene Peterson....the back, baaack, baaaack, part....like he was having a heart-attack....had he only had an important homer to call just once....would have been right up there with Gene's infamous non-sensical Ralph Sampson call.
